RUMOR: China Unicom to release iPhone 4S on January 6

“After Chinese regulators have issued the final permit required for Apple to launch the iPhone 4S in China, everyone is waiting for China Unicom to begin selling the device by the Christmas and New Year holidays,” Chris Chang reports for M.I.C. Gadget. “Today, the latest rumor: China Unicom will launch the iPhone 4S on January 6.”

“According to knowledgeable insiders, the preparation work for sales channel, staff training and network testing is completed,” Chang reports. “China Unicom will launch the device very soon.”

Chang reports, “If the rumor is true, we will be seeing an iPhone 4S launch at all five Apple stores in China on January 6, too.”
