U.S. ITC to review HTC vs. Apple ruling

“The U.S. International Trade Commission said it will review in part an initial decision by an administrative law judge who in October ruled that Apple Inc. didn’t violate four of HTC Corp.’s patents,” Aries Poon reports for The Wall Street Journal.

“On Oct. 18, the ITC judge ruled that Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple devices didn’t violate four of HTC’s patents, which cover technology for looking up and quickly dialing phone numbers and different techniques for managing power consumption on portable electronic devices,” Poon reports. “The ITC said in a statement dated Friday it will revisit “in entirety” the ruling on one of the four patents that covers power management on mobile devices, following a petition to appeal by HTC filed Oct. 31. The statement didn’t say when the review will be completed.”
