“Apple has begun sending out emails to developers announcing the release of its ‘auto-ingest’ tool, allowing app developers to retrieve and download their app’s sales and trends data from iTunes Connect. The tool is based on Java and will work on any system that can support Java 1.6 or later,” It’s All Tech reports.
“Apple notes that the usage of this tool is monitored, which isn’t very surprising considering all of the issues the company has been having with analytics tools built in to iOS,” It’s All Tech reports.

Now everyone no fighting to be the first on getting in your commentary on this… Hello? Anyone there?
Does anybody else find it ironic that Apple denigrates Java and then requires it?
Delicious.
I think you mean Flash.
As an iOS developer, I am very annoyed that this has anything whatsoever to do with Java. Ridiculous.
I suspect this was not vetted properly by the higher ups at Apple and will be replaced with a real Cocoa app that is not Java garbage.
Sorry, but just keeping it real. Either Cocoa and Objective-C is the best, or Java is good too? Come on….
If you were an iOS developer you’d know that iTunes Connect is a Mac App, not an iOS App.
It is an iOS app too…. (connect)
Just because apps run on iOS and you develop them using a mac doesn’t mean that more advanced applications which store data on a server are running on mac hardware.
Someone might use windows for their server technology… (what are the chances of that……)
I figured an “auto-ingest” tool is something that would help you eat. Download snacks directly to your stomach via iTunes.

“Auto ingest tool” … because now we can be like our dogs!
The apple tool is great. It however lacks the possibility to download all missing reports – it only downloads 1 either latest or specified report. I’ve created a Bash script to automaticaly download all missing reports. You can get it from: http://ipaddevzone.com/cs/bash-script-download-all-available-reports-using-apples-%E2%80%98auto-ingest%E2%80%99-tool-itunes-connect-sales-tren
