Apple announces new auto-ingest tool; download your app data from iTunes Connect

“Apple has begun sending out emails to developers announcing the release of its ‘auto-ingest’ tool, allowing app developers to retrieve and download their app’s sales and trends data from iTunes Connect. The tool is based on Java and will work on any system that can support Java 1.6 or later,” It’s All Tech reports.

“Apple notes that the usage of this tool is monitored, which isn’t very surprising considering all of the issues the company has been having with analytics tools built in to iOS,” It’s All Tech reports.

  1. As an iOS developer, I am very annoyed that this has anything whatsoever to do with Java. Ridiculous.

    I suspect this was not vetted properly by the higher ups at Apple and will be replaced with a real Cocoa app that is not Java garbage.

    Sorry, but just keeping it real. Either Cocoa and Objective-C is the best, or Java is good too? Come on….

    1. Just because apps run on iOS and you develop them using a mac doesn’t mean that more advanced applications which store data on a server are running on mac hardware.

      Someone might use windows for their server technology… (what are the chances of that……)
