“Upstream component suppliers for non-iPad tablet PCs have been gearing up their preparation of needed parts and components for models to be launched by brand vendors in the third quarter,” Yenting Chen and Steve Shen report for DigiTimes. “Shipments of iPads and non-iPad tablet PCs, excluding white-box models, are expected to top 21-22 million units in the third quarter, compared to 13.5-14.5 millions shipped in the second, according to industry source.”

“Non-iPad branded vendors together are expected to take delivery of a total of 7-7.2 million tablet PCs from their contractors in the third quarter, up from 3-3.5 million units took in the second, added the sources,” Chen and Shen report. “Apple alone will take delivery of 14-15 million iPads from Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) in the third quarter compared to 10.5-11 million in the second.”
Chen and Shen report, “Shipments of tablet PCs to Amazon are expected to reach 1-1.2 million units by a conservative estimate in the third quarter.”
