“During the WWDC keynote, Apple mentioned AirPlay Mirroring in passing, but it is the greatest iOS 5 feature,” Trevor Sheridan reports for AppleNApps.
“You get to stream all of the content on your iPad 2 onto your big screen TV via the Apple TV,” Sheridan reports. “Now you can share every single thing on your iPad 2 screen with no need for apps to have built in AirPlay functionality.”
Sheridan reports, “With the beta software installed on the iPad 2 and Apple TV, it was just a matter of starting AirPlay mirroring from the multi-tasking bar. Then every single action was mirrored in real time on an HDTV. There are 90,000 iPad native apps in the App Store, and they all work with AirPlay Mirroring with no work from the developers. If the developers do a little tweaking they can have their apps display in full HD.”
