“Creighton University has become the only site in the area to offer a new Apple training center,” KETV reports.
“There aren’t many training centers in the country, so the new center makes Omaha a draw for people in the region who want to take courses and get the Apple certification,” KETV reports.
“Professor Joel Davies, who is now an Apple certified trainer, said the training was brutal,” KETV reports. “‘You really have to know the software,’ Davies said. He and two other colleagues are certified. ‘We’re it between Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver and Oklahoma. We’re the entire central portion of U.S.'”

John Keenan reports for The Omaha World-Herald, “Davies said he hoped area professionals would use the center, which will offer training and Apple certification to creative services professionals. who need to upgrade digital skills.”
“‘When you’re certified, it opens up so many more jobs for you in the creative industry,’ Workman said. ‘Final Cut (film editing software) is one of the biggest industry leaders right now in terms of filmmaking, editing, advertising, because you can do it on your own desktop,'” Keenan reports.
Keenan reports, “At the open house Friday, Davies talked about the opportunities the center will offer. ‘The coursework is actually designed by Apple in association with leading industry professionals,’ he said. ‘Having gone through the certification … you sit down and do the certification and realize just how much of the software that you haven’t really touched yet. And the breadth of knowledge you get when you sit down and do that is unbelievable.'”
Keenan reports, “The first class will be in Final Cut Pro, Oct. 19 through Oct. 23.”
