Apple releases MacBook, MacBook Pro Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0

Apple today released MacBook, MacBook Pro Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0 which addresses an issue where the first key press may be ignored if the computer has been sitting idle. It also addresses some other issues.

Installation of MacBook and MacBook Pro Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0 requires Mac OS X 10.5.2.

The MacBook and MacBook Pro Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0 supports the following products:
• MacBook (Late 2006)
• MacBook (Mid 2007)
• MacBook (Late 2007)
• MacBook Pro (17-inch Core 2 Duo)
• MacBook Pro (15-inch Core 2 Duo)
• MacBook Pro (Mid 2007, 2.4/2.2GHz)
• MacBook Pro (Late 2007, 2.4/2.2GHz)

This update installs an application in the Utilities folder called “Built-in Keyboard Firmware Update.” The updater application will automatically open. Once open, please follow the instructions within the application to complete the update. It can also be manually run later by double-clicking the updater in the Utilities folder.

MacBook, MacBook Pro Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0 is available via Software Update and also as a standalone installer.
