“While we love the iPhone and its Google Maps application, we still found ourselves printing directions from Google when in a hurry. Why? Because there wasn’t a fast way to get that address and map to our iPhones. So, we made iPhoneSender,” explains developer Design Is Fuel.
iPhoneSender allows you to email a Google Map link to your iPhone.
iPhoneSender works on any Mac OS X or Windows machine with Firefox or Safari installed.
In Safari: Drag the Safari bookmarklet to your Bookmarks Bar. Then highlight an address on any web page, and click the bookmarklet in your bar. iPhoneSender prompts you for your email address, then sends you the properly-formatted Google map link.
In Firefox: Download the Firefox extension. Then highlight an address on any web page, right-click (or control+ click) and select “Send Map Link to iPhone.” iPhoneSender prompts you for your email address, then sends you the properly-formatted Google map link.
On iPhone: Check your email and click the link. The iPhoneSender link will launch the Google Map application for you. From there you can get directions or add it directly to your address book.
iPhoneSender is free. Donations are welcome.
