RUMOR: Vodafone frontrunner for Apple iPhone partnership in Europe

“Apple is finalising a deal with Vodafone to bring the iPhone to Europe, according to the latest iPhone rumours,” Phil Lattimore reports for Tech.co.uk.

“Vodafone has once again emerged as a frontrunner to sign an exclusive deal with Apple for the European launch of the iPhone, although it’s unclear yet which territories the proposed deal would cover,” Lattimore reports.

“The latest reports suggest Apple is on the verge of agreeing a deal with Vodafone which could be announced within the next couple of weeks,” Lattimore reports.

  1. Between the lines. Jousting, brinkmanship, Apple is going to get a bigger kickback in some markets than they got from at&t. Float a trial balloon, see how the markets react, see how the analcysts react, put it all in your pipe and smoke it, try and gauge your bid.

  2. Off course the kick back is going to be bigger. They have the hottest gadgets on the planet. And I don’t want to hear about the little things their products don’t do. The fact that their products just do the things their suppose to, and do them well, is why people want to buy Apple products. Their not buying Mac OS X because they have to, people are buying Mac OS X (CPU’s, iPhone’s, Apple TV) BECAUSE THE PRODUCT WORKS!

    As soon as people try one product the are buying another, so of course Apple is going to reap larger kick backs.

    yes, in the UK often networks or shops (ie carphone warehouse) will have exclusive phones that you can only get from them. This is common practice to entice users at contract end time as there is massive street cred to having the next best thing phone for certain sections of the population!
