MacMod has announced “The Great MacMod Challenge 2007.”
This annual challenge is the time for some exciting experimentation in the Mac modding community. Some modders spend all year preparing for this highly competitive event.
The Great MacMod Challenge 2007 is your opportunity to have fun and maybe even win some great prizes.
All you have to do is mod an item that fits into one or more of the following categories:
• Internal Mods – Modification of motherboards, graphics cards, overclocking, etc.
• External Mods – Modification to appearance through lighting, painting, remolding, recasing, etc.
• Lighting Mods – If it emits a glow and it’s been changed then it qualifies so long as it is Apple-related.
• Peripheral Mods – Modifications to a mouse, base station, etc.
• iPod Mods
• iPhone Mods
• Software Mods – Modification at system level such as custom OS install, supporting unsupported hardware, etc.
• Miscellaneous Mods – Anything from a robot controlled by a Mac to a carputer system.
Submissions can be for one or multiple categories.
Judging criteria:
• Creativity & Originality
• Level of Difficulty
• Aesthetics & Design
• Functionality
• Level of Integration

Nah, I’d screw it up…
I upgraded the memory in my old eMac once. Does that count?
I will design software to determine the Fart content of Camel’s Milk, this will help to determine at which stage Camel’s Milk’s by product of billious tummies is at its least and at its worst.
For those planning on using bio-gas to svae the planet, this should be a most helpful programme as you will no doubt save a small fortunate by generating your own bio-gas!
Maybe I should submit my G3 ShoeBox Mac.
Although I’m pretty sure it would get last place for Aesthetics…
you definitely should submit the shoebox G3. mods don’t exactly have to have mass appeal to be worthwhile.
How about encasing a mac plus in Lucite? It will most definately last forever. Or maybe a toaster with an ipod dock and two stereo speakers.
I am doing it.
Hope to get some help from Tim
Cheers

No problem I invest in dot com startups. Your idea sounds great how much seed money do you want?
@ aweso, How about a thought organising keyboard! then you can layout your ideas in well spaced sentences & paragraphs.
Once that is done, it will tell you to keep your ideas to yourself until you have patented them & started production.
As it is, I am now tempted to spend some of my hard earned Camel’s Milk profits to exploring your ideas with a view to cashing in on them myself.
You can no longer patent the ideas because you have placed them in the public domain.
Farting is good!
Farting is natural
Farting gets rid of your internal miasma’s (Just ask Vincent Price!)
Farting…..a person’s best friend!
Farting is for life not just on special occasions like Birthday parties or secular celebrations.
Fart For Life!
Thanks OK, Camel I know I cannot control my hands as I have 4 fingers. I have one provisional patent I filled in NZ in 2004 for a filter You can search me if you want. I use to think it was easy, but business is hard.
