“Apple’s design chief, Brit-born Jonathan Ive, collected his CBE [Commander of the Order of the British Empire] from Her Majesty the Queen in London today, Apple has confirmed,” Jonny Evans reports for Macworld UK.
Evans reports, “The designer of the iMac and the iPod, Ive has been instrumental in Apple product design.”
“It’s the latest in a string of plaudits for the influential designer. In 2003 he was named Designer of the Year by the Design Museum London and he also holds the title of Royal Designer for Industry from The Royal Society of Arts,” Evans reports. “The award was announced in December 2005.”
