  1. Well, I agree it will likely be something big. What I am hoping is that rumor sites (yeah, you know who you are…) keep their insider information as speculation and rumor rather than tout it as fact. Has anyone else noticed that Steve hasn’t said those famous words “And one more thing…” since the rumor sites kept stealing his thunder. Its one thing to offer opinions and evenon-the-target rumors, but to throw it in Steve’s face with complete specs and such somehow takes away the fun and anticipation. So, for what it’s worth to anyone who cares…keep it discrete!

MW: action, as in, “Can we take some action on this item please?”

Not everyone believes in Christmas, so the surprise of Christmas morning doesn’t give everyone the same tingles.
Same rules apply here, if you don’t want to read the specs, rumors, confirmations, etc then DON’T.

But don’t expect the sites whose bread and butter come from making those confirmations or predictions to stop because they hurt your tummy when they end up being true.

  3. One thing I can almost guarantee is some more demos of critical applications running on Intel. You gotta believe Adobe would want to demo just why all of Mac users will want to upgrade all our Adobe products.

  4. Just Wondering…

It’s not that I don’t enjoy hearing about products before they are announced (I avidly scan the rumors sites as much as you probably do and very much hope that a tablet mac is in the works <grin>), but there is a difference between speculating and throwing it out as fact. Apple has gotten a lot of bad press about its attempts to plug those leaks and I am concerned that it will eventually change the way Apple chooses to make announcements, which would likely not be as entertaining and exciting for us fans. One can still offer an opinion (with a wink-wink) and maintain the sense of excitement rather than acting like the Washinton Post going after every sleezy action of politicians…

MW: moving: That’s just my opinion, now moving on…

  5. re: PowerBook G5 using the new dual-core PowerPC chips? That would be the single announcement that would blow everyone away.

    NEVER HAPPEN.

Why do think Apple has switched to Intel processors??

It ws becasue IBM cannot come up with a mobile chip that runs cool enough for laptops – and the fact that they had 3yrs to break the 3ghz barrier whic they couldn’t do, so Jobs sacked them.

If anything Apple could be announcing Mactel Powerbooks.
