“The last Wednesday morning in February, I caught the 8:00 AM flight from Burbank to Oakland, then took a taxi to Emeryville, where a drive-on pass was waiting for me under my covert spy name, Drew McWeeny, allowing me to enter the headquarters of Pixar for the very first time. This is something I’ve wanted to do for quite a while, so despite the ungodly early hour, I was full of energy. I was the first person from the group of journalists to arrive, giving me plenty of time to look around the lobby, which is actually a gigantic football-field length atrium, the centerpiece of the entire building,” “Drew McWeeny” reports for Ain’t It Cool News.
Not Apple-related, unless you count that Pixar’s CEO is also Apple CEO Steve Jobs, but interesting nonetheless. Full article with photos of the inside of Pixar headquarters here.

Those photos are almost a year old! I’ve seen these already!
I didn’t think this was MacYearlyNews! ;-p
I’ve never seen them before. Pixar looks like a great place to work at.
Oh the jealousy.
Oh those old pictures?
I saw those about a year or two ago.
Notice the render servers and monitors are old? These pictures were taken before the X-Serve G5 came out.
Pixar is over to X-Serve G5’s and the new metal Apple monitors now.
Nice for MDN to link to them again though.
If I can find that online video tour of Pixar, I’ll send the link, it’s a whole lot better, shows Steve Jobs office, a secret room filled with signatures of famous people and more.
find it macdude, we would love to see that.

The Pixar HQ is a pretty cool place. Been there a few times, including getting to watch a special advance screening of the Incredibles at the on-site digital theater. Nice building, lost of amenities – they even have an onsite dentist and doctor as well as a fully equipped gym. I guess it’s the principle of “happy workers make productive workers.” ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />
Oh, those Photo’s aren’t real. It’s all 3D computer generated! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />
