I’m not going to explain how reducing the time of exposure proportionately reduces the chance of getting or passing along an infection because you would obstinately pretend not to understand. The risk of exposure is already pretty low when you are outside with a group that is all fully vaccinated and mostly masked. In many cases, the people sitting closest rode with you in a car to the stadium, so they have no additional risk. The goal is not 100% protection, and never has been, just the avoidance of readily avoidable risks.

It does request compliance with DC Health Guidelines, which I have also read, and which state that full-vaccinated persons are safe to go without a mask outside.

Florida is doing a bang-up job like Texas. Between June 30, 2020, and July 28, 2021, New York State (where residents were encouraged to follow public health advice) had 23,295 Covid deaths, Florida (where residents were left “free”) had 34,175, and Texas had 50,295. That speaks for itself.

Could there be other factors behind your Google-curated numbers? Were the age and individual health conditions of deceased factored in? How old were the covid patients (deaths) in each state? How about the median age of each states’ population? Do older populations have more co-morbidities? How do age and health conditions contribute to deaths in a given population. She was outdoors, so she didn’t need a mask, so she was wearing a mask (which is her prerogative), but took her mask off for an interview.
She was socially distance from a vaccinated reporter, so she took her mask off. But, then was all snuggled up with 100 people NOT socially distanced and unmasked.
Then she put her mask on for the photo along with Marlarkey – Dem. while all of the people around her were CLEARLY unmasked and, unlike the interview with the reporter, NOT socially distanced AT ALL.
So, TXy thank you for that account of events, but, just want to let you know that it makes NO sense whatsoever. None. Only thing that makes sense is that she put her mask on (one of only two masked left wingers) for the fake photo and then took it off.

The Hidalgo County situation, as their emergency declaration and the mayor’s statements reflect, involves persons legally in the US. They are here because US statutes and treaty obligations say they can be here. They are testing positive at no higher rate than long-term residents of the county.
That seems to be a distinction that is unclear to our Governor, who moved hundreds of state troopers down there with orders to stop any vehicle containing passengers who looked “foreign.” That might be a problem in a county where 90.9% of the population are Mexican-Americans, but fits into Abbott’s project to blame anybody but himself for 50,000 Covid-19 deaths.
