$4000?!?!?! WHAT? FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!
If you don’t deserve a nice setup, that’s OK.
Well if it was a Mac Pro Then Yes it’s worth it, THIS AIN’T. There is Zero Expandability. It’s basically a Souped up Mac Mini. LAME.
This is an incredibly powerful computer, targeted at professional users. It is well priced for that market. Alas, it is also way out of my reach. 🙁
Apple is a Joke charging that much. Can’t even come up with a Mac pro. after 4 years. Just a superpowered Mac mini, Lame. $4000. JC. Guess they have to pay Tim Cook his 100 Million Dollar Bonus.
This new Mac Studio is the hardware that many users have been asking for ever since the Trashcan debacle 9 years ago. FINALLY!!! I think the new Studio will be a hit.
Those who cringe at price tags: processing power per dollar is less than ever. If you don’t need the latest/fastest/best, then stick with a Mini. You know Ford offers F150, 250, 350 and bigger trucks. Most people overbuy but nobody’s forcing you into the next more powerful “just a superpowered” model. As with everything, we do have to exchange $ for time. Apple products never were cheap. At least with this new release, most of us won’t have to waste hundreds of dollars in new cables, adapters, docks, etc.

I will add this: the M chip family is getting confusing to the average buyer. Pro is no longer the best. Max is no longer the maximum. Bad marketing. But at least those in the know will be able to get the performance level they need. Most users wouldn’t know what to do with an M1 Ultra chip if it was given to them for a handful of pennies, and they’d still gripe about the price.
The Mac Studio is supposedly FASTER than the Mac Pro? If that’s true, it’s a bargain for those relatively few users who need a machine that fast and powerful.
If all you’re doing is web surfing, and the occasional spreadsheet, PowerPoint or print brochure, you don’t need a $4,000 box… (I certainly don’t need one)
