Season 1 of “Foundation,” the global Apple TV+ phenomenon eight decades in the making, is coming to an end, so Apple has released a ‘Foundation’ finale trailer for viewers to catch up on the series before watching the epic finale.
Based on the award-winning novels by Isaac Asimov, “Foundation” chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire.
“Foundation” stars SAG Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Jared Harris as Dr. Hari Seldon; Emmy Award nominee Lee Pace as Brother Day; Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick; Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin; Laura Birn as Demerzel; Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk; Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn; and Alfred Enoch as Raych.
Led by showrunner and executive producer David S. Goyer, “Foundation” is produced for Apple by Skydance Television with Robyn Asimov, Josh Friedman, Cameron Welsh, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross also serving as executive producers.

The Edsel cost a huge amount for Ford to produce. Investment size does not equal quality or massive audience.
It reminds me of Star Tek: Next Generation in its quality. Light years away from Game of Thrones or even Breaking Bad. In a good series you never recall that you’re watching actors, on sets, reading lines, being directed. In this show you’re constantly reminded of them all. The director is garbage. The best actors are the middle Emperor and his 11,000 year old helper. The other actors are all working really hard, ie not making it look easy or frankly natural. Don’t even get me started on how they’re abusing the source material. Alllllllllllll of that said, yes I’ve watched the whole season and will watch the finale tonight. So there’s that, an accomplishment that many series have not had in my viewing.
I can’t get over the forced diversity, are most of the characters in the source material black?
I don’t mind that it’s diverse, or even forced (and basically everyone in the source material was a white male). I mind that the black women in foundation are all infallible. It makes the show so damn predictable. Is there a black woman in the scene? She will be smarter, better, and more flawless than everyone else.
On the other hand, Lee Pace’s performance is amazing. I got to the point where I just fast forwarded to the scenes with him in them.
Then I stopped watching entirely.
I stopped watching also when, in a recent episode, a black woman took over a cult and immediately went after Lee Pace. It suddenly clicked that the whole show is female PoC vs. white males. Took me numerous episodes to realize this because I’m not racist or sexist, unlike the producers of the show.
The director was garbage? There were 5 directors of the episodes so far. Are they all equally garbage? You don’t explain why how this unworthy program has managed the grand accomplishment of keeping your attention, but I’m glad you get to watch the finale a week before the rest of us.
The finale is next week, dude.
The real problem is that this is not Foundation. The series more properly should be called by some other name with the tag line “Inspired by Isaac Asimov’s Foundation”. What I’ve seen of it is not bad. It’s just NOT Foundation.
Perhaps they could have spent another $15 and bought the Foundation books and then, you know, tell that story.
