Apple’s iPhone sales in China show strong rebound in July

A new report says that Apple’s iPhone sales in China bounced back in July, an upbeat sign for the company in one of its top sales regions.

Rex Crum for Seeking Alpha:

According to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, iPhone sales in China averaged 2.8 million units a week in July, a 75% increase over the same month a year ago, and a complete reversal from the 15% year-over-year sales decline that took place in June.

JP Morgan analyst Samik Chatterjee said in a research note that the data from China bodes well for Apple, and the entire mobile phone industry, which he said grew shipments by 12% between June and July.

When Apple reported fiscal third-quarter results in late July, it said China accounted for $14.8 billion of the company’s $81.4 billion in total sales for the period.

MacDailyNews Take: There will be iPhone sales blips and bobbles in China and elsewhere, but the iPhone supercycle, powered by 5G, will continue for years.

  1. Apple could say more and do more for human rights if they just divested themselves of all involvement with communist China. No nation poses a greater threat to the world than the one controlled by the CCP. I’m sitting here watching people being sealed into their apartments and others thrown into animal cages all without food because they test positive for COVID-19, and the hypocrites at Apple continue to effectively support those inhuman activities.

I dare say if it were the 1800s, Apple would support slavers if it meant a bigger profit.

Stupid Apple Car. Who needs it. What we need Apple is for you to lead the way in bringing manufacturing home to America.

    1. So, whatever happened to the letter sent by the Congress to Apple seriously questioning the sale of Apple servers to CPP complete with what’s stored in them? Any response from Apple? Or, did they draw the Congress into secret negotiations to avoid revelation of shameful actions by Apple in Red China?
Yes, this does remind me of the “Cook”ed up photos of leashed Timmy. What sort of weakness did Timmy share with CPP to get a favour and jack up the sales figure?

Folks, this sounds very unusual, don’t you think? Apple must have done something over there that they cannot talk about. Cook’s Apple depends too heavily on iPhone sales to the point he does ANYTHING for CPP (and behind our back). We do not know what tricks and compromises he used. Behind bamboo wall…. and sigh….
