Apple’s iTunes Match gives you access to all of your music on all of your devices, even songs that you’ve imported from other sources such as CDs. Or, rather, that’s how it’s supposed to work. Unfortunately, iTunes Match users have been hit with widespread issues.
Note that tf you have an Apple Music membership, you get all of the benefits of iTunes Match.
iTunes Match is officially part of an Apple Music subscription and is there known as iCloud Music Library.
Over the last few weeks, an increasing number of users have taken to Twitter, the Apple Support Forums, and Reddit to note that the service has essentially stopped working. Users reports that iTunes Match is stuck in a constant loop of uploading songs or “Matching your music with songs in the iTunes Store.” The issue has become so widespread across Twitter that users have created an “iTunesMatchBroken” hashtag.
A large reason for users’ frustration is the silence from Apple on the issue… For the last week, Apple has refused to respond to comment on the situation, including whether the service is in the process of being shut down.

Just own it.
You mean Apple should just own up to the bug? Or you mean people should just own their music and be done with it?
@just own it the answer is yes.
I suppose if Apple refunds 11 months of my match subscription. I received no shutdown notices.
?
It’s simply a pure sign that the Apple glom-on with music subscript, in place of the solid days of buy-to-own iTunes, is a mistake.
Exactly although I have an Apple Music subscription subscription’s in general are bullshit just like iTunes match was we see now Apple ignores problems
Roon is THE best music playing service out there…it’s what iTunes should have been 10 years ago…iTunes is a joke comparatively!
I never decided to do iTunes Match because of the horror stories about people’s libraries and playlists getting deleted, having metadata removed, having song versions changed, etc. If I really want certain albums on my iPhone I’ll move it from my Mac manually. Mostly I listen to audiobooks and my favorite big band a classic Jazz radio station on my HomePod for free from TuneIn, the one redeeming feature and pleasant surprise from that lackluster device. Enough blood-sucking subscriptions, especially from a company that screws their customers like this without a word of explanation.
Signed up to Music free trial finally – and my library of thousands of songs has disappeared….
Did no one even consider backing up their extensive library of pirated songs to an external hard drive?!?
It’s not precisely true that you get “all” the benefits of iTunes Match with Apple Music. iTunes Match was available a few years before Apple Music, so it works with older devices. So the iCloud Music Library of Apple Music only works with devices that support Apple Music, whereas the iCloud Music Library of iTunes Match works with older devices. I have Apple Music and also pay the $25 annual fee for iTunes Match because I can play songs from my iCloud Music Library on my OLD tv, which is connected to my living room stereo system. That tv (tiny one with A5) is too old for Apple Music.
I haven’t ripped a CD or otherwise imported music for a while, so have not encountered this error.
