Apple tapped actor, comedian and writer Larry David for what appears to be a promotional video created for the 2014 Worldwide Developers Conference. Curb you enthusiasm, however, as the spot never aired.

Shared by Sam Henri-Ghoul in a tweet on Monday, the clip was reportedly set to air as Apple’s introduction to WWDC in 2014. The company typically pre-tapes a brief welcome video that is shown to conference participants, with the tradition morphing into a complete keynote experience as the conference transitioned online during the coronavirus pandemic.

Henri-Ghoul posted a clip from the short film in which David plays the role of an “App Approval” specialist. His desk holds an iMac, a statue of the Empire State Building, and what looks to be green and red stamps for approving or denying apps.

MacDailyNews Note: Here’s the full video (while it lasts):

    1. JT is an anti-Judaic bigot and moral reprobate. Just what I’d expect from someone trolling an Apple fan site.

See how this works? Play in the mud pit, you end up looking like a pig.

Can’t we all just get along?

        1. If your deity is so weak that it can’t stand up to the antics of a comic, you should consider finding a better one. Or more than one if your narrow little brain can imagine classical polytheism which predates your current cult. Equally compelling as the impoverished liberal wandering jew martyr that you have conveniently converted into a mythical blonde haired blue eyed conservative capitalist who is always short on cash.

  1. I think I would have enjoyed this if it was half as long and edited down. Parts were really cute, and parts just fell flat. Either way, in the few years which have passed, I don’t know if a lot of those jokes would still be allowed.

    1. This plays pretty much exactly like a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode, which has many slow moments that build to a crescendo of shit for Larry.

This may be why it wasn’t used as it probably seemed slow to anyone not in on the show’s method.
