Apple’s new 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro is set to launch in the second half of May, but orders placed today are estimated for delivery as late as mid-July on Apple’s online store in the United States — some two months later – due to mini-LED-related supply constraints.

If you won’t get it until July you are 1/4 of the way to releasing an updated iPad. I wouldnt wait 3 months for delivery of anything.
I would and will wait for as long as it takes. The screen is amazing, but having an M1 powered iPad with the screen and screaming edge graphics is unbelievable. No doubt the next yrear’s model will improve that. I have been using last year’s model as my video Zoom screen and my MacBook Pro 16 inch as my medical software record keeping device for my practice. I find I am using the iPad Pro 12.9” to do the vast majority of my creative work, web work and content creation. It’s an addictive device. I can only imagine how the new one will look and perform.
Just plan on NOT getting anything for 6 months after announcements. It will only get worse as supply chains in all durrable goods are unavailable worldwide. This will be the new normal going forward. Oh, expect prices to go up at least 10% this year.
