For years, these Big Tech companies have silenced voices in the social media sphere and shut down competing companies and platforms. It has only grown worse in recent months. And just last week, this discriminatory action included the unprecedented step of removing and blocking President Donald Trump from online media platforms.
“First Amendment rights and transparency must be maintained for a free online community to operate and thrive. However, the seemingly coordinated de-platforming of the President of the United States and several leading voices not only chills free speech, it wholly silences those whose speech and political beliefs do not align with leaders of Big Tech companies. Every American should be concerned about this large-scale silencing and the effects it will have on the future of free speech,” said Attorney General Paxton. “The public deserves the truth about how these companies moderate and possibly eliminate speech they disagree with. I am hopeful that these companies will set aside partisan politics and cooperate with these CIDs in order to get to the bottom of this contention and ensure a truly free online community consistent with the highest American ideals.”

Black Lives Matter and Antifa activist John Sullivan has been arrested and charged with federal crimes after attending the riot at the U.S. Capitol last week.

According to an official affidavit released by the Department of Justice Thursday evening, Sullivan had a knife and dressed in body armor. He told others who breached the building that they should start a fire and burn the U.S. Capitol building down.
“Sullivan stated that he was at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, when scores of individuals entered it. Sullivan stated he was wearing a ballistic vest and gas mask while there. He showed the interviewing agent the ballistic vest. He further stated that he entered the U.S. Capitol with others through a window that had been broken out. Sullivan stated he followed the crowd as the crowd pushed past U.S. Capitol Police and followed the crowd into the U.S. Capitol,” the affidavit states. “Sullivan further stated that he had been present at the shooting of a woman within the U.S. Capitol by a U.S. Capitol Police officer and that he had filmed the incident.”
“After the crowd broke through the last barricade, and as Sullivan and the others approach the Capitol Building, Sullivan can be heard in the video saying at various points: ‘There are so many people. Let’s go. This shit is ours! F-ck yeah,’ “We accomplished this shit. We did this together. F-ck yeah! We are all a part of this history,’ and ‘Let’s burn this shit down,'” the affidavit continues.
Last summer, Sullivan organized a BLM protest with other leftist groups, including a local ANITFA chapter. The event became violent and one person was shot. He was arrested at the time.
One of the organizers of a protest in Provo that resulted in a motorist being shot was arrested on Thursday.
John Earle Sullivan, 25, of Sandy, was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of rioting, making a threat of violence and criminal mischief.
On Facebook, its event page was originally titled End Police Brutality but was later changed to Marching for Racial Equality. The Facebook pages listed the event’s hosts as the groups Insurgence, Solidarity for Justice, Salt Lake Equal Rights Movement and the Salt Lake Antifascist Coalition. “The protest traveled on the roadways blocking motorists who have the right of way. John Sullivan blocked vehicles from freely moving lawfully. Vehicles were damaged by protestors as well as by John Sullivan,” the affidavit states.
“As a protest organizer John Sullivan is heard and seen as he is promoting protesters to block roadways, keeping motorists from traveling lawfully and freely.”
Sullivan was also captured on video threatening to beat a woman in an SUV, according to the affidavit, and then kicking her door, leaving a dent.
Sullivan was seen with Jesse Taggart — the man charged with shooting the motorist — throughout the protest, the affidavit states.
“As a protest organizer, John Sullivan is heard talking about seeing the shooting, looking at the gun and seeing smoke coming from it. John did not condemn the attempted murder nor attempt to stop it nor aide in its investigation by police.”

Paxton may be Attorney General, but as a defendant under felony indictment, he could not serve as a juror in Texas. He is a crook who got in thanks to the former Texas laws permitting straight-party voting. He is sucking up to Trump because he thinks it will buy him a pardon.
He is the same guy who filed a suit claiming that Texas could veto a Pennsylvania election. Seven judges on the Supreme Court (including all three Trump appointees) denied him standing. The other two would grant every state suing a state standing, but clearly signaled the intent to dismiss the suit on its merits. Paxton is as competent a lawyer as the Kraken lady.
Paxton and his wife were speakers at the same rally that just got Trump impeached. Another reason for him to worry about social media blocking him for

His “civil investigative demand” is based on the howlingly false premise that the First Amendment guarantees that non-governmental entities must facilitate the message of those with whom they disagree. When the Amendment speaks of “free speech,” it does not obligate Apple to pay for somebody else’s speech so it will be free for them. For Texas to force that outcome is, in fact, a government taking prohibited by the Fifth Amendment.
What Big Brother did in 1984 was not only to prohibit free speech, but to use governmental power to compel private parties to repeat arguments with which they disagreed. Just as the Two Minute Hate was to force every citizen to repeat the government line, Paxton is trying to force Apple to repeat Trumpist propaganda contrary to Apple’s judgment of its own and the public’s interest. Nobody ever said there weren’t examples of fraud and error in every state’s presidential election. They only said that there was no widespread fraud that made the outcome in any state questionable. That is particularly true when the fraud and error cuts both ways and partially offsets.

Here in Texas, AG Paxton has doubled the size of his Elections Fraud task force since 2016 and has resolved just 16 cases. Since 2004, a grand total of 24 people have spent even a day in jail for Texas elections offenses.
In this particular case, the Veritas Project taped a woman claiming that she was conspiring to harvest ballots for a Republican candidate. That would certainly be illegal in Texas, but it is not clear that she actually followed through with it or how many Republican votes should be invalidated. As one might expect, she denies the charges.

“After the crowd broke through the last barricade, and as Sullivan and the others approach the Capitol Building, Sullivan can be heard in the video saying at various points: ‘There are so many people. Let’s go. This shit is ours! F-ck yeah,’ “We accomplished this shit. We did this together. F-ck yeah! We are all a part of this history,’ and ‘Let’s burn this shit down,'” the affidavit continues.
Last summer, Sullivan organized a BLM protest with other leftist groups, including a local ANITFA chapter. The event became violent and one person was shot. He was arrested at the time.

Nobody ever said there weren’t examples of fraud and error in every state’s presidential election. They only said that there was no widespread fraud that made the outcome in any state questionable. That is particularly true when the fraud and error cuts both ways and partially offsets.

Here in Texas, AG Paxton has doubled the size of his Elections Fraud task force since 2016 and has resolved just 16 cases. Since 2004, a grand total of 24 people have spent even a day in jail for Texas elections offenses.
In this particular case, the Veritas Project taped a woman claiming that she was conspiring to harvest ballots for a Republican candidate. That would certainly be illegal in Texas, but it is not clear that she actually followed through with it or how many Republican votes should be invalidated. As one might expect, she denies the charges.

Gee, I thought entrepreneurship was all the vogue in conservative circles. It really isn’t rocket science to startup your own hosting service. You’d think that if Parler was such a valuable asset to conservatives and to Trump, financiers would be throwing money at the project. They could even buy one of the current hosting companies that are up for sale to jumpstart.
