The Apple TV app with Apple TV+ and Apple TV Channels is coming to Alphabet Inc. subsidiary Google’s Chromecast with Google TV early next year.

We’ll be bringing more of your favorite entertainment into one place with the launch of the Apple TV app on the all-new Chromecast with Google TV. With the addition of the Apple TV app, Chromecast with Google TV users can access Apple TV+ (you’ll need a paid subscription). This makes the Chromecast with Google TV one of the only streaming devices with all the major video subscriptions.
As an Apple TV+ subscriber, you can tune into award-winning original shows, movies and documentaries from the world’s most creative storytellers. This includes titles like “Ted Lasso,” “The Morning Show,” “Defending Jacob,” “Greyhound” and “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special.” Also on the Apple TV app, you can access your library of movie and TV show purchases from Apple, as well as enjoy personalized and curated recommendations and Apple TV channels. Through Family Sharing, up to six family members can share subscriptions to Apple TV channels.
With Google TV, you’ll be able to see Apple Originals in your personalized recommendations and search results, making it even easier to find your favorite shows and movies. And, you’ll be able to save them to your Watchlist to catch up on later.
We will roll out the Apple TV app on Chromecast with Google TV early next year, and even more devices powered by Android TV OS in the future.

Anyone actually like AppleTV App? I find it extremely buggy, annoying, unintuitive, and complicated. I avoid it. Netflix has the best interface, Prime the worst, and Apple has the most disappointing.
I’m just glad that my Google Home Mini and Google Nest Smart Display now work with my Apple Music subscription.

It’s not a case of it doing badly or not it’s not for many the right or economic option. Like me who the hell is going to buy an Apple TV box just so they can get Appletv+. I have a free year due to a new iPad and have to mirror it via a cable to my TV as I used to have to do with Amazon Prime till it became available on my cable box but can’t see that happening with Apple.
So what other options do I have for Atv+ I checked past few days. New tv with app on it, Amazon stick (ironically) or now it seems Chromecast. (Can’t update my OS to download the app on my Mac for other software reasons but not sure that achieves anything more anyway but I go through browser as it is). So what Apple should do surely is create a stick so that I can buy it and stream from my iPad maybe Mac too rather than effectively forcing me to either add a new expensive box, buy an expensive new tv or as I am now likely to do in the new year buy a competitors stick for a fraction of the cost of buying an Apple supported device. Madness, for using a little lateral thinking many doing this will inevitably be drawn into another ecosystem.
