U.S. stocks rally to add to weekly gains

On Friday, U.S. stocks moved higher, propelled by better-than-expected earnings and COVID-19 vaccine optimism with investors eyes trained on pharmaceuticals like Pfizer, BioNTech, Eli Lilly, Regeneron, and Moderna.

U.S. stocks rally to add to weekly gainsSuzanne O’Halloran for FOXBusiness:

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose over 100 points or 0.5%, while the S&P 500 was higher by 0.6% and the Nasdaq Composite up 0.3%.

Disney fueling some of the gains in the early session after reporting better-than-expected quarterly results, even with the negative impact of the pandemic.

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, speaking on FOX Business, said the distribution network is ready to go once a vaccine arrives.

“Pfizer will be doing its own direct distribution to pharmacies that we ask them to send to based on the instructions of our nation’s governors under their distribution plan. So the vaccine will arrive at these pharmacies, white-glove service and the pharmacies will then execute distribution plans to the targeted populations that the governors have selected” he explained.

In other reports, the University of Michigan’s preliminary index of consumer sentiment for November came in at 77 slightly below the expected 82.

MacDailyNews Take: It’s always nice to see U.S. stocks rally, even if Apple is currently down fractionally (-0.25%) on the day.

        1. Trump hasn’t “lost” anything. There is no such thing as president-elect of the United States when the election result is disputed. We have a long way until all of the courts finish their rulings.

        2. Hey Dickhead….errrr…. FT. Georgia just went to Biden today so it’s over. 306 electoral votes means….yup…security guards will toss out BLOTUS on Jan 20th, then fumigate the place so that Biden can take over.
BTW, what are you still doing here? Ding dong the witch is dead….got it? So go away or at the very least, go get some professional help.

        3. No state is certified. Contrary to addled Libs bloviating here, CNN doesn’t award states.

Plus, once the states are certified, they are then eligible to face additional lawsuits contesting the election results, which can be filed up to 40 days after certification (or the seventh day after the completion of a recount in Oregon), depending on the state.

We have a long, long way to go, which is why I provided you the handy timeline above.

        4. Give it up. The margin in Pennsylvania is so wide that eliminating 100% of the mail in ballots received after the polls closed (the only even arguable II.1.2 issue) would not come close to changing the outcome. The courts do not waste their time hearing academic arguments that can have no real world consequences.

        5. While the order not to count segregated ballots may not give Trump a victory in Pennsylvania, it may trigger a recount.

House lawmakers in Pennsylvania’s General Assembly are demanding a legislative-led audit of the 2020 election before the state certifies the results.

And, an audit is the last thing PA wants. Because the results are crooked.

Biden, if he were smart, which the past 47 years have proven he’s not, should want audits everywhere to prove that he’s not illegitimate. He’s too stupid (or knows the Democrats are guilty and is therefore too greedy for power) to do the right thing.

So, even if he “wins,” he loses. History has seen this before. He’s old, illegitimate, and will be a waste of four years if he does manage to weasel his way in. If he manages to live out his term naturally or otherwise. If Harris assumes, ol’ headboard has no mandate, either.

The Dem’s lead in the house was decimated.

Trump will destroy Biden daily, every single day of his term.

73+ million actual living American voters voted for President Trump and we’re not going anywhere.

You made Trump’s first term a living hell. Expect the same (hopefully even worse) treatment of the old, slow, demented Biden who sells influence of offices entrusted to him by voters via his crackhead son and is therefore owned by China and other adversaries like the dog he is.

There will be no rest for the already very weary Biden.

        6. Naturally, you only want it to end quickly for your boy Biden to win. Same as impatient Democrats and MSM backers. Well, although you posted a premature outcome — the legal process is underway.

It took 38 days to resolve the 2000 hanging chads debacle in one state that triggered a recount in select precincts in Florida. Five states are involved this time, ALL in various phases, so it is a lot more complicated.

          Advice from Linsey Graham:

“I want Pennsylvania to explain to the American people how six people, after they die, can register and vote in Pennsylvania. I want the computer systems in Michigan that flip votes from Republicans to Democrats to be looked at—and the software was used all over the country,” Graham said. “There’s a lot of shenanigans going on here, and if I were President Trump, I would take all this to court, I’d fight back.”

          Fighter Don marches on.

Voter fraud is REAL and you can choose to ignore it, but the good news you cannot make it go away.

Obviously you are ignorant of various methods of voter fraud. Dead people vote every election — FACT! “Ballot harvesting” is a well know devious technique to sway elections going back to FDR and his support of LBJ that won several illegitimate elections historically beginning in his college years. Walk around money (WAM) busing people to the polls for a buck is standard in Pennsylvania. Ballots trashed, ballots found in the middle of the night magically tilt 100% to one side.

Biden spent election day in NEPA hometown Democrat ground zero Scranton, PA. Home of “The Office” TV series and D Senator Bob Casey. Months ago Bob was on the front page of PA newspapers standing outside a Post Office accusing without facts the Trump administration of suppressing votes.

As logically follows, the postal union endorsed Biden. Curiously the PA voter laws changed illegally allowed mail in ballots to be postmarked by 8 PM Election Day and counted. I guess Biden was in town that day just to grab a cold cut at neighborhood Hank’s Hoagies. 🙄

        7. Yesterday, while you sore losers were blocking a smooth transfer of power, 1321 Americans died of a disease that you fantasists refuse to acknowledge as serious. 69,455 Americans were hospitalized with that same disease. That is just the beginning. Within the next two weeks, the hospitalizations will rocket up to reflect day after day of record highs (163,473 yesterday) in new diagnoses. As the hospitals are overwhelmed, deaths (and not just from COVID-19) will spike, too.

No, it did not go away the day after the election. It is getting worse and you lot are in denial of that and everything else. You and your President are making mass deaths inevitable by refusing to cooperate with the President-Elect.

        8. Oh, by the way:

Democratic senators warned of potential ‘vote switching’ by Dominion voting machines prior to 2020 election

In a December 2019 letter to Dominion Voting Systems, which has been mired in controversy after a human error involving its machines in Antrim County, Michigan, resulted in incorrect counts, Democratic Sens. Elizabeth Warren, Ron Wyden, and Amy Klobuchar and congressman Mark Pocan warned about reports of machines “switching votes,” “undisclosed vulnerabilities,” and “improbable” results that “threaten the integrity of our elections.”

Dominion machines are involved in every state where Trump is launching legal fights.

    1. trump is a con man who understands perfectly that he lost, and is pretending that he didn’t in order to con his supporters for their support and money (for his “election PAC” which doesn’t go to what it says it goes to).

trump is a con man, everyone around him knows that, all reasonable people know that.

The only people who don’t are still being conned.

Getting rid of him is the only path to getting Covid under control and the economy back on track.

      1. The NY Times projected 27 TOSS-UP elections in House races nationwide.

The GOP has won every one of those races that have been called/conceded so far. If IA2 breaks GOP, that would mean the Republicans won every single toss-up race. That is unheard of. Even going 26-1 is stunning. It’s a clear wave election for the GOP. A tsunami, actually.

And, yet, Biden magically won exactly the states he needed to win, by razor thin margins after vote counting was inexplicably “paused.”

        Interesting.

Any sane observer who understands basic math, statistics, and probability would have questions.

        1. If you think that 47,000 votes in Pennsylvania, 150,000 in Michigan, and 233,000 in Minnesota are “razor thiin,” it is amazing that you haven’t cut your throat shaving.

It was your candidate who demanded the halts in counting, precisely because he—like every other sentient being in America—knew that the mail-in votes would overwhelmingly favor Biden because Trump had been telling his supporters for months to vote in person.

Most states, like Texas, did not allow straight-party voting in this election, so more people split their vote between a Republican congressman or Senator that they liked and a President that they did not like. No sane observer could fail to understand that.

        2. President Trump did not pause the votes, the shady Democrats controlling the elections in their inner cities paused the vote, while barring observers.

It’s curious how Joe Biden underperformed Hillary Clinton in every city…except in four inner cities in states Biden needed to “win.”

Trump won the largest non-white vote share for a Republican presidential candidate in 60 years. Biden underperformed Hillary Clinton in every major metro area around the country, save for Milwaukee, Detroit, Atlanta and Philadelphia.

Robert Barnes, the foremost election analyst, observes in these “big cities in swing states run by Democrats…the vote even exceeded the number of registered voters.”

Trump’s victories in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin were on target until, in the middle of the night, counting was arbitrarily halted. Miraculously, several hundred thousand votes – all for Biden – were mysteriously ‘found’; Trump’s real leads subsequently vanished.

The protracted, eventual outcome will determine the contemporary relevance of Stalin’s observation. No matter who wins, most pollsters already have lost their credibility and influence.

  1. Stock market is up as a result of Biden being elected President and the promise of a return to competence and decency. They understand that there will actually be a plan to deal with the virus and a good chance of an economic recovery as a result. His 306 electoral college votes and his over 5 million vote lead project a strong start in January. He will likely eliminate a big chunk of student debt, which he can do by executive order, which will stimulate the economy as well in addition to any stimulus program enacted by congress.

    1. What kind of decency is that? Sending your crackhead son to shake down foreign governments by selling influence to offices entrusted to you by citizens (many of whom are dead or maybe not even citizens) for millions of dollars?

    2. Poof…student debt is gone, removed, bye-bye. ALL that was needed was an executive order and we’re all good.
What a showing of financial dim-witted-ness_Current-unawareness. Add to that the paradigm that embraces “stimulus” with the mindlessness of the Staples “Easy” button. Debt has consequences and the currency is supposed to have value. Speaking of “stimulating the economy” who’s the real benefactor in the long run? Please answer that in light of the wealth chasm increasing through the decades. I’ll guess you’ll be inclined to think it was Trump’s fault. If so, please refer to the 3rd sentence.

Here’s a helpful reference to what you’re advocating. What you speak of involves actions to stimulate through “soft money,” when good money (hard) is supposed to retain its value. Again, debt has consequences and money is to represent true value/worth.

Go Joe. We need to be stimulated. Please, Don’s stimulation wasn’t quite enough. Easy Button is ready.

(Graph is 10+ yrs old and stats have continued predictably.)

  2. So what? She was not paid $50,000/hour like Hunter The Crackhead to influence U.S. policy and create the opportunity for governments to extort his feeble, old, corrupt, demented daddy.
