Olivia Colman narrates the global series about child development that explores how the first 2,000 days on Earth shape the rest of our lives. Told through the eyes of over 100 children across the world, from Nepal to Japan and Borneo, each episode offers a thought-provoking look at how children learn to think, speak and move, from birth to age 5.

“Becoming You” underscores how different our journeys can be, but ultimately tells the story of our shared humanity and community when it comes to raising children.

This Apple TV+ documentary series is produced by Wall to Wall Media and is executive produced by Leanne Klein and Hamo Forsyth.

The first six episodes of “Becoming You” will make their global debut on Friday, November 13 exclusively on Apple TV+.

    1. The two oldest cities in the United States are St. Augustine and Santa Fe, both older than Jamestown or Plymouth. There are towns in Northern New Mexico where Spanish has been the predominant language for over 400 years, since well before the first English (or French) settlements in North America. French is still the dominant language in parts of Louisiana after three centuries. The indigenous peoples have been here much longer, of course.

In the Texas county where I live, German immigration began around 1880 and ended in 1914, but one of our Lutheran church schools was still conducting Grade K-3 classes in German into the 1960s. Moravian immigration covered about the same period, but there is still a Czech-language newspaper in 2020. In the 1980s, I regularly had to find translators from Czech, German, Swedish, and Spanish for witnesses who were native-born American citizens, sometimes for three generations.

The first locally-born African-Americans were born in Virginia when the Pilgrim Fathers who came over on the Mayflower were still living in Amsterdam. There were almost certainly Blacks in Florida and possibly New Mexico even before that. There was almost no Black immigration into the United States between 1807 and 1950. So, the chances are that your Black neighbors have deeper roots in this country than most of your White neighbors.

Cultural diversity is as American as Apple or apple pie.

  1. Nope. It is a historical fact that the colonies and the United States were founded by Whites. Racial Balkanization is an affront to God’s Created Order.

P.S. Biden is gong to get his ass handed to him, and Amy Barrett was confirmed tonight. Hahahaha…

      1. Don’t lie. You don’t have a Bible.

The Bible actually teaches that the descendants of Abraham are the people of God. And it goes on to define the descendants of Abraham as being the SPIRITUAL descendants of Abraham—not the physical ones—meaning those whose faith is in Jesus Christ.

      2. Actually, I own over 150 Bibles. I started collecting them even before I got my Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology degree. I am not going to get into a debate over whether the New Covanant completely abolished God’s promises in the Old Covenant.

    1. So sorry. It will be Trump who has his very fat ass handed to him in an epic defeat on election night. Trump is going to lose huuuuuuuge. Once the dems control the house and senate and the White House they will reform the Supreme Court and there goes your ha ha ha with judge Amy. The repubs won’t be able to do a thing about it. After all they’re the ones who said “elections have consequences”. Dems will just be abiding by the repubs own rules. Ha. Ha. Ha.

    1. Would you or one of your buddies here please explain what is either woke or leftist about a study of child development in America and other countries? Is your objection to the idea that adults behave differently from infants or that children in other countries grow up, too?
