  1. Tim Cook’s idea of “entertainment” is about as strong as his thoughts on “racism.”

Some inconvenient truths (credit: Al “the sky is falling” Gore):

    1. That’s my MAN— First, Then. Always cogent, fact-based and ultimately proven to be correct commentary! I’m so glad you’re here and, like Thelonious’ writings, I eagerly look forward to your postings. Now; prepare for the backlash from the history ignorati !! 🤣

      1. Don’t you see TXLoser totally avoiding inconvenient truths, Johnny? We all do.

        In 2019:

        403 white suspects were killed
        24 white suspects were unarmed
        250 black people were killed
        14 black suspects were unarmed
5.9% of white suspects killed were unarmed
5.6% of black suspects killed were unarmed

        BLM is a marxist facade.

        1. Leave it to the local village idiot to conflate bias based on historic racial discrimination with a political theory that proposes workers should have equal political weight against the billionaires.

Forum cleanup please: first idiot has made another mess in aisle 3.

        2. Badi,
Where are your facts, fool? First Winner shows his consistently. All you prove is that opinions (even without substantive content or substantiation) are like a**holes—everybody has one, but, so what?

        3. First From St Petersburg offers no facts. He posts twitter opinions that agree with from his little troll farm echo chamber.

So of course the first thing you do is attack anyone who doesn’t worship orange con men.

  2. Apple: again forging ahead with cutting edge entertainment. Is it not conceivable that Steve Jobs would wonder what happened to “Think(ing) Different?”

As long as the stock price is high and going higher….all is good with pedestrian.

  3. If somebody who has earned $500 million (net) from selling 200 million records, was named best-selling female pop artist of the millennium, and spent 82 weeks at #1 with 19 #1 singles isn’t cutting edge, who is? Her last Christmas album was one of the best selling of all time and her Christmas single “All I Want for Christmas is You,” spent 20 weeks on the UK Top 10 charts in late 2019 and early 2020. For Apple to grab this exclusive is huge. What do you suggest for Apple TV+ instead, “Lawrence Welk’s Greatest Hits?”

    1. She was also paid to leave her contract early because she was also known as Billboard Chart & Box Office Poison at the same time. Convenient how you left out the gLitter in her career.

    2. You mad bro? Are you going to now add culture cop to your self-appointed truth-detector post?

Square peg_round hole she ain’t. Sales numbers/bank account size aren’t an indicator of import.

      1. Perhaps not of import, but certainly of marketability. Apple is a for-profit corporation that is running TV+ to attract eyeballs. Almost nobody in the world can attract more eyeballs than Mariah Carey. I cannot think of any reason why someone would object to a Mariah Christmas special except for folks like First Then who cannot speak of Black people without citing crime statistics.

        1. Look at the list of the “crazy ones,” which was Steve’s invention. She’s (MC) hardly a “misfit” and nothing BUT “status quo.” Cook is great with “marketability” (spreadsheeting) but he has no sense of depth or taste…even his SJWarriorism is sideways and confused.

Now, “marketability” is the ONLY bar to meet. Attracting eyeballs justifies? Sad.
The Story (yes for-profit at that time and ascending wonderfully) worth remembering, beyond stock price records and market cap, is in the past. Steve thought differently. Cook doesn’t know how to. Btw, I’m pleased with the stock price records…I’ve been free from working for about a decade, but it’s now just a one-dimensional story and by your remarks, you don’t see it/agree/care.

Btw, you’re still learning the fact thing (truth telling). You may want to leave the taste thing for others and focus on the “slippery” personal characteristic. As well, it’s apparent your butt-in-seats, as the bar, mindset makes me think you’d have a hard time handling the culture and taste realm anyways. You’ld probably give an affirmative to Barry Manilow and Captain & Tennille merely because of their financial success.

    1. “I have great reverence for religious freedom. As a child, I was baptized in a Baptist church, and faith has always been an important part of my life. I was never taught, nor do I believe, that religion should be used as an excuse to discriminate.” — Tim Cook

      1. Actual Baptists are supposed to read and follow the teachings in the Bible, which include:

Leviticus 18:22 identifies homosexual sex as an abomination, a detestable sin. Romans 1:26-27 declares homosexual desires and actions to be shameful, unnatural, lustful, and indecent. First Corinthians 6:9 states that homosexuals are unrighteous and will not inherit the kingdom of God. Both homosexual desires and actions are condemned in the Bible.

Why does Tim Cook feel the need to be a sanctimonious SJW 24/7? Because he was brought up a Christian in Alabama and is gay. He tells himself and anyone who will listen that he has PRIDE, but he’s really a self-loathing gay.

Why does Tim Cook feel the need to VIRTUE-SIGNAL constantly?

Because he hates himself and projects it onto others. He thinks everyone who is “white” is racist. He is wrong.

Because he sold out his country to communist dictators. He says he loves America, but he screwed his own country and sold his soul to communist murderers and he knows it – subconsciously, at least.

The only thing he loves about America is that it allows him to spout his crap, rake in billions, and misspend Apple shareholders’ money by flushing it down the toilet to liberal fronts funneling money to Democrat candidates.

I don’t need unending wrongheaded lectures from vastly overpaid self-hating billionaire pricks who sell-out their own country to communist dictatorships so they can live in protected splendor while pontificating to everyone they’ve destroyed by their own actions.

        1. I’m sorry you are so consumed by hatred for those whose religious beliefs differ from your own. I’m quite sure that Mr Cook is praying for folks like you.

        2. This has nothing to do with my religious beliefs (obviously since I did not mention my religious beliefs at all).

Tim Cook’s Baptist religion — you know, the one we’re talking about, the one you brought up — is based on the Holy Bible, but Tim Cook only follows the parts of the Holy Bible that he likes and that are easy for him to follow. He ignores the parts he finds difficult to follow.

There’s a term for what Tim Cook is: “Cafeteria Christian.” Another word that describes Tim Cook: hypocrite.

Tim Cook is a sanctimonious hypocrite, but we all knew that already.

        3. Your interpretation of the Holy Bible is more than just a casual mention of your religious beliefs. It shouts them from the rooftops.

My point is that other men and women who are equally committed to their understanding of the inspired Holy Scriptures hold different beliefs. As one rather prominent example, Pete and Chasten Buttigieg were married in the Cathedral of St. James in South Bend and have been active members for a number of years. They see being a gay married couple as an expression of their faith. That is the very opposite of hypocrisy. I see no reason to believe that Tim Cook is not equally sincere in his beliefs.

    2. Rob’s Truthiness Day of Imaginary Elves And Wasteful Commercialization And White Jesus Takeover Of Pagan Winter Solstice Celebration

Let me guess, for cultural inclusiveness you will put one Nat King Cole song on your playlist.

It speaks volumes that so many here would judge Mariah Cary’s future work before they have experienced it. her song All I Want For Christmas Is You has probably made more money AND made more people happy than anything that the fucking peanut gallery here has accomplished.

        1. When the argument is lost, the right wing asshole attempts to hurl personal insults.

MDN has become a toxic hellstew since it lets the first 4 posters whine with obvious racial bias against Apple distributing a performance from a black artist. My mother taught me to keep my mouth shut rather than to be a whiner. First and his remaining few friends never learned how to be civil.

  4. Hankie, hankie, hankie needed over here for Sarah.

    Medic, medic, medic…

And you use the perversion of logic to deduce NOT liking Ms. Carey’s MUSIC as racist. In reality THAT’s racist. It’s fairly safe to assume, no serious professional black artist would want their work shielded from sincere aesthetic criticism because of the color of their skin. No human wants that kind of “protection.” It’s simply, amongst other things, the bigotry of low expectations.

This opinion of yours shows the vacuousness that is Identity Politics. You might want to really consider the truth spoken by Martin Luther King about making skin color such a determinate factor in your thinking. It’s not unifying_at all.

I think her music sucks, but would NEVER say no to Jimi Hendrix. How’s that snoflake?

  5. Sarah’s complaint—and mine—was not that the comments criticized Ms. Carey or her work, but that they used her race as an excuse to go off on a tangent about BLM and crime rates in minority neighborhoods. None of the “critics” said anything about her music, or even about her personally aside from invoking the “difficult black woman” stereotype.

That is racist. If you can’t see that, you aren’t colorblind, just blind.
