Reliable leaker Sonny Dickson today says via Twitter that Apple will be introducing an all-new, totally-redesigned iMac at WWDC 2020 which kicks off on June 22nd.
According to Dickson, Apple’s new iMac will feature iPad Pro design language, with Pro Display like thin-bezels. It will also offer a T2 chip (no surprise there), AMD Navi GPU, and do away with the Fusion drive option.

Reliable leaker CoinX claimed in March that an iMac update was coming “soon,” but hasn’t shared any additional information on it since then.
Meanwhile, Intel announced new “Comet Lake” processors in late April that would be appropriate for the iMac, although we haven’t heard specifically which processors Apple plans to include in the updated iMac.
In March, CoinX also claimed a new Mac mini was in the works. (ARM-based dev units for WWDC?)

“iPad Pro Design language“ I guess means the “look,” or some sort of functionality?
I like the iMac’s “chin”, that’s where I put stickers and post it notes including passwords. 🙂

All people talk about is making the bezels smaller on the iMac when there are far more important things Apple could do with the iMac. Things like improved cooling, a modern GPU and a nice touch would be user-accessible slot for adding an NVMe/M.2 card. Smaller bezels are small potatoes in the large scheme of things.
There’s nothing wrong with the iMac’s “chin” as long as it’s being utilized internally. I can only hope Apple doesn’t decide to make the iMac case any thinner than it is. I want decent airflow to all components. The MacPro is internally a engineer’s dream design and it’s a shame Apple can’t do something internally like that with the iMac.

This is confusing, hold off till WWDC for Mac Mini or iMac, but order an I7 Mac Mini while you can? Does this imply that a new Mac Mini would be a downgrade from the current 2020 Top of Line Mini?
The first quote is from MDN. With all the speculation about a probable change to an Apple designed CPU in the Mac Mini if you are sure you want an Intel CPU now is the time to order one. Especially since the i7 is a custom configuration, now may be the last chance to get a Mac Mini with an i7. (After a new version of the Mac Mini is announced, most store’s clearance Mac Mini’s would not include the i7 option.)
Note: One could order a new machine within 2 weeks (more likely closer to a week) prior to the event and if a more desirable machine is announced return / cancel the one just ordered.
Yeah, I know the proper name is “Mac mini” lower case “m” for mini. IMHO, the Mac mini is such an amazing and productive machine given its size and cost I capitalize Mini. The “name” should be more reflective of how the Mini has grown. Again IMHO.

Please don’t hermetically seal the RAM and the HD options, Apple! Make it so that I don’t have to lift off the screen to fix/replace/service the HD! Make it as easy as the MacPro!
This is a desktop, it doesn’t need to be razor thin or made of adamantium mined by dwarves in the Misty Mountains.
And please leave an SD slot.
And put a USB port on the front or side where I can actually see the dumb thing.
Wish they would go back to a floating display like the G4. Mine never overheated and were pretty accessible.
I realize they couldn’t reuse that EXACT model (although I would t mind…).
Lately every new Apple design announcement fills me with fear. When was the last time they actually GAVE us something, instead of took something away? Calling any iPad “pro” is a joke. Pros do things. They need compatibility with the world around them. There is nothing “pro” about stuffing everything through a lone port so that endless cable swapping makes it wear out it a year.
Now I have to fight MDN’s formatting and find a way to make this readable:

• Hard drive slot. If a Sony playstation can have this, there is no excuse for a Mac not having one. External drives with tangles of wires are inelegant and add failure potential.

• HDMI input. You’ve got that wonderful 5k screen, why can’t we connect stuff to it? Cable TV, Playstation, live camcorder output, even a second computer. It’s a huge waste of space to need a TV right next to your iMac. (Also, a hardware button for switching inputs.

• Nobody cares about making it a millimeter thinner! Add an inch just to remind yourself that it doesn’t matter, and maybe allow for some heat dissipation.

• Front accessible ports for SD cards, USB sticks, and headphones. RCA output for connecting to a stereo. People use this stuff, and having to turn your computer is another risk for damaging wires or unplugging things unexpectedly.

• Sliding lens cap for FaceTime camera. You told us once it was unhackable. It never will be.

• Real keyboard and mouse. (See Naga hex, lights not necessary. Working drivers are.)
