Apple’s design, engineering, operations and packaging teams have worked with suppliers to design, produce and ship face shields for medical workers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Apple will also produce 1 million face shields per week for medical workers, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced Sunday via Twitter.
Apple’s face shield design can be packed 100 to a box and can be assembled in two minutes. Here’s how:

MacDailyNews Take: Thank you, Apple, for supporting our medical professionals in this time of crisis!
I agree with MDN for their thanks.
I do wish Apple could speed to market an iBreath personal respirator. I suspect such a device would just work.
Do I need to install a screen protector?
Thankfully, they probably won’t be too thin.
I can imagine apple hardcore fans selling/buying those face shields on ebay and using them for doing selfies for instagram, or going outside, jogging, together with airpods, and so on
Wow!
Your imagination is breathtaking.
Corona isn’t going away anytime soon, and there will probably be more outbreaks followed by sporadic orders of social distancing. Apple should bring this equipment to the consumer market ASAP.
Will this face shield still work with MacOS 10.7.5 runningh on a 2006 Mac Pro because I refuse to update to any OS since Apple has done such a bad job on upgrades and catalina.
I sold Steve a Halloween mask once in my shop.
