Saturday Christmas shopping set U.S. single-day retail sales record

Lisa Wolfson for MSN Money:

Holiday shopping set records over the weekend, with Super Saturday sales reaching $34.4 billion, the biggest single day in U.S. retail history, according to Customer Growth Partners.

“Paced by the ‘Big Four’ mega-retailers — Walmart, Amazon, Costco and Target — Super Saturday was boosted by the best traffic our team has seen in years,” said Craig Johnson, president of the retail research firm.

Job growth and fatter wallets, along with stronger household finances, have put consumers in a buying mood this season, Johnson said… “The question now is whether today’s stellar momentum leads to sustained economic growth into 2020 and beyond,” he said.

MacDailyNews Take: Good news for the U.S. economy and for Apple, as you can bet a nice chunk of those sales went towards iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, Macs, AirPods and AirPods Pro, etcetera!

  1. On this Christmas Day it is incumbent on all of us to recognize the growing economic tide that lifts all boats.

Certainly, President Donald J. Trump mercurial leadership, absent career swamp politician experience, is a driving catalyst.

It is very sad the Democrat Party is doing everything in their power to destroy this man, rather than work with him for the America greater good.

It is duly very sad the media has lost ALL objectivity and on a daily basis purposely does not report the glowing economic numbers on the front page, much less give credit where credit is due. Imagine the reporting if the president today was a Democrat. Nuff said.

    Trump in 2020! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸

    Merry Christmas …🎄🎁
