President Trump’s trade deal with China removes major hurdle for rally in Apple and tech

“U.S. President Donald Trump’s limited trade deal with China removes a major hurdle for Apple and other technology stocks that have already surged this year to record highs,” Noel Randewich reports for Reuters:

The so-called Phase One deal announced, but still not signed, on Friday suspends the planned imposition of new 15% tariffs on Sunday that would have hit $160 billion in Chinese consumer goods just weeks before Christmas, including $115 billion worth of iPhones, laptops and other electronics.

If it is signed, Trump’s long-awaited deal will be a relief to Apple, among the U.S. companies with the most to lose in the trade war between the world’s two largest economies, along with chipmakers who make the components in its devices, which are mostly made in China.

Reflecting Wall Street’s mostly upbeat view toward Apple, BofA Global Research analyst Wamsi Mohan on Wednesday raised his price target on the company, predicting the eventual rollout of 5G would drive three years of robust iPhone sales.

MacDailyNews Take: It certainly hasn’t hurt Apple’s share price today which was up +1.36% in regular trading to hit new all-time intraday and closing highs.

    1. The impeachment is nothing but a farce to fool the stupid and the gullible. It worked great on auramac

All those supporting the impeachment are guilty of interfering with an election. They should be hung for treason

        1. He is being impeached because the Democrats haven’t actually run a campaign on any ideas that attracted any but the stupid and functionally and criminally insane. Proof – they chose Hillary Clinton as their nominee last time. Now, the leading candidate is Joe Biden, whose son was paid $86,000 per month to be a “board member” of an unknown Ukrainian gas and oil company, which needed expertise in crack cocaine and sex addictions. That’s where Hunter came in. And Joe Biden was unaware his son, who had just been kicked out of the Navy, was making $86,000 per month from the country Joe was overseeing for Obama. Joe has experience with tough people, because he put the Negro, Corn Pop, in his place with a 6′ foot chain when he was a lifeguard. Once he got the pool under control, young kids were able to play with the blond hair on his legs, and then sit on his lap. Now, Joe has turned all that great experience, and his son, into a winning formula in the Democrat Party Presidential sweepstakes.

That’s why Trump is being impeached.

      1. Funny how Republican Special Counsels, DOJ Task Forces, House Commitees (plural), and Senate Commitees (plural) have been investigating Secretary Clinton more or less continuously since 1992 and have yet to charge her with anything.

We’re all those Republican investigators incompetent or was there just no prosecutable offense?

Funny how you are so clueless. The media is NOT on President Trump’s side that is obvious every minute of everyday since he descended the golden stairs.

What you seem to forget because you are a biased champion of Hillary, wait for the next report Barr’s team is preparing.

Both Clinton’s should be locked up and your false opinion along with them…

        2. I never mentioned the media. My point was that Sec. Clinton’s political enemies have been examining every detail of her life (probably down to her lower colon) for forty years, ever since she became Arkansas’ First Lady in 1979. If there was admissible evidence of a crime (or a polyp): we would know. Suggesting we need to lock up people without evidence is right up there with the authoritarian refrain that criticizing the Dear Leader can somehow fit the constitutional definition of treason.

        3. With my head out, I see that a whole lot of guys in government positions that gave them access to essentially all the resources of the Federal Government spent man-centuries of labor and many millions of taxpayer dollars investigating Secretary Clinton and making enough suggestions of criminal activity to not just fill a book but a shelf of books.

Now you are telling me that they weren’t too scared to do that, but they were too scared to seek an indictment? Do you also want me to buy the Brooklyn Bridge from a Nigerian prince?
