Apple has already renewed four Apple TV+ series as sources say the service has drawn millions of users during first week.

Cynthia Littleton for Variety:

Apple TV Plus has given second season orders to the four scripted drama series that launched the streaming service last week. Dramas “See,” “For All Mankind,” “Dickinson” and “The Morning Show” have been greenlit for sophomore seasons. “Morning Show,” led by Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, already had a two-season order and is already at work on its next season of 10 episodes.

Apple has yet to release any specific details about subscribers or viewership activity on the service, which bowed Nov. 1. Sources close to Apple say the service to date has drawn millions of users who are spending on average more than an hour on the Apple TV Plus platform… A knowledgeable source said Apple insiders were impressed by the volume of activity on the platform, which spiked by triple digits this past weekend after the fanfare for the Nov. 1 debut.

Sources close to Apple say the early numbers indicate that most viewers who watched one episode of the core four series went on to watch at least one more, if not two… A big test for the service will come on Friday when Apple TV Plus releases new episodes for “See,” “For All Mankind” and “The Morning Show.”

MacDailyNews Take: So, there’s no reason to not get a bit invested in any or all of the main four series as they’re guaranteed to have second seasons at the very least!

We hate how the broadcast networks just pull the plug on excellent series in which we’ve become invested with little or no warning — Jericho and Revolution, we’re thinking of you among many, many others.

    1. Well it is $4.99 per month so it seems rather appropriate.

I don’t know the whole offering on the Apple service, there’s more than 4 however but it’s just started and new stuff Will be added on a regular basis like any other new service and it’s why it’s free for device buyers for the year it will take to seriously get it in motion and the two just might be related. Personally I will wait to see how things develop for a bit or take advantage of the free period when I get a new iPad in a few months, but I have Prime and to put it in perspective so far at a greater cost per month (nearly double) so far I have only watched two series it’s an extra to my TV experience and no doubt Apple TV+ will for the foreseeable future and like the other add on services work in similar fashion.

    1. Love the Morning Show too. Surprisingly good. Episode 4 will shock you. It is meant to do that. I will see where things will go. Some shows turn for the worse after a few episodes. So far so good and I want to sit it through. So there you go, Apple might got my money, and that’s not by having a large catalog but by having me on a drip.

  1. Well I’ve got to be honest I was worried about Jason Mamoa’s acting in “See” but was pleasantly surprised and I’m waiting for the next three episodes. However, (that’s like “but” and has more letters) the other shows don’t grab me and one show won’t lock me in at all.

  2. 3 episodes comprises a season!!! REALLY??? What a rip-off that is. They put their pitiful content volume out there, with no indication of when next episodes would air, and i don’t see any additional content that is free. Amazon Prime, at twice the cost, is a MUCH better deal. At least their content is extensive, top shelf, and they offer a ton of additional free stuff. The icing on the cake, it’s also so much easier to browse.
I think that Apple really blew it with this one!

        1. Cool story, bro. Your retort is worth of your three brain cells.

You put pitiful comment volume out there, with no indication of how you’ll grow more brain cells, and I don’t see any additional brain cells for you that are free. Amazon Prime Brain Cells, at twice the cost you’ll ever be able to afford, is a MUCH better deal for you. Take out a loan bro. At least Amazon’s brain cells for sale, unlike the ones you were born with are extensive, top shelf, and they offer a ton of additional free stuff, like learning how to think, rather than trying to tell us all what to think. The icing on the cake, it’s also so much easier to browse life with more than three brain cells.
I think that ckh really blew it with this one, even his name sounds like what he is – a co’ckh’ead whose head is up his ass.

    1. No, three episodes are just the first instalment in a season and then they release the next three episodes etc. until the first season is complete. From memory the next three instalments of See will be released on November 8/9 depending on your geographical position in relation to the International Date Line.
