U.S. President Donald Trump has a feedback for Apple CEO Tim Cook regarding the company’s iPhone and that is to provide a home button. In a tweet, the leader of the world’s largest economy called out the Apple CEO and lamented the loss of the home button on the company’s smartphones.
To Tim: The Button on the IPhone was FAR better than the Swipe!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 25, 2019
Currently, it is not known which iPhone model is being used by Trump but it can be only be assumed that he was using some older model (iPhone 8 or older) has recently upgraded to a new iPhone which does not have the home button.
MacDailyNews Take: The Home button is an anachronism. The Home button is awful. Give it five minutes and you’ll get used to the new, better way of doing things – it’s much more fluid and faster without the constant staccato interruption of clicking that damn antiquated Home button.
Most of us did our five-minute conversion back in 2017, but the government is a bloated, hideous mass that moves at a glacial pace at best, so it’s actually surprising that a Home button-free iPhone made it to the president this soon!
“Give it five minutes and you’ll get used to the new, better way of doing things…”
Unless you’re a half senile man-baby with a vocabulary of a couple of hundred words, who thinks he knows better than EVERYONE else.
How can I give a Commenter’s post more than 5 stars”!👍😀
“Unless you’re a half senile man-baby with a vocabulary of a couple of hundred words”
You are mistaken and talking about Nancy Pelosi that fits your description perfectly the only exception woman baby.
Your HATE for our great president TOTALLY BLINDS you to all the good he has achieved for Republicans, Democrats and Independents in three short years.
Pity…
I wonder if the Secret Service (and the NSA) are happy about the Leader of the Free World walking around with a device that has a camera that can’t be disabled.
Pretty easy to go into the phone and remove or physically disable the camera module.

What about that over there?!?!
Only dictators can be great!

Despite all proof to the contrary, everything my tribe does is the greatest ever in history!
All hail the Chosen One! Anyone who exposes corruption is a traitor!
When is my tee time?
It takes a gullible stupid populace to blindly follow a blowhard who spews so many lies every day!
Regarding “many lies:”
The “whistleblower” is 33-year-old Eric Ciaramella.
Ciaramella is a holdover from the Obama administration and a registered Democrat. He’s been accused of leaking like crazy. He worked with Joe Biden, he’s a vocal critic of President Trump, and he invited a DNC operative inside the White House to attend meetings. He also helped instigate the investigation into Russia collusion. So, of course, Democrats would believe his second-hand complaint about President Trump’s phone conversation with Ukranian President Zelensky over the actual transcript of the call itself.
MDN giving the president advice. lol
I think he still wears pants with pleats too.
The horror! The horror!
Trump’s handlers dress fast foodie in chief well enough.

A NEW LOW for Mike the serial HATER of our great president, Donald J. Trump. Thanks to people like you he will be re-elected in a landslide …
Goeb: apologist for the criminal president Nixon The Second. I hate all criminals. The facts are coming out and you willfully ignore them.
Regarding fashion:
“Really don’t care. Do U?”
nuff said, whatever that is supposed to mean.
You only see criminal behavior on the Republican side. Wait until the facts come out regarding surveillance of Trump during the campaign and during his presidency starting with Comey…

@Factchecker
Somebody nominate Ciaramella for the Nobel Peace Prize!
Trump might still be eligible for Literature for his works of fiction, in breadth if not depth.
are you kidding? pleats are awesome. con don’s tailors are doing the best anyone could with the physical specimen they have to work with!
actually if you have an ounce of muscle, or a feminine curve, you need pleats or darts or an all-spandex wardrobe. for formal wear, i strongly prefer pleats over stretchy cheap disposable fabrics.
dumbo in chief wears imported suits with pleats because he’s obese. junk food and fox all day makes one fat and stupid. he would still be using a samsung s3 phone if he had his way!
“dumbo in chief wears imported suits with pleats because he’s obese. junk food and fox all day makes one fat and stupid. he would still be using a samsung s3 phone if he had his way!”
Not a “dumbo” a BRILLIANT self made billionaire making America Great Again. Your eyes closed shut does not acknowledge the economic records he has set in three short years.
He plays fools like you and the liberal media like a stradivarius violin…
One of the happiest days of my life by far will be the removal and incarceration of Donald Trump. Cannot overstate this. Go home, gorilla.
Stop being a fscking moron, I beg you, just stop
Thanks to blind morons like you that are incapable of acknowledging all the good President Donald J. Trump has achieved for the world. Sorry, you are going to be disappointed when he wins in a landslide…
Disappointed? I will cry!
What a maroon!
What a macaroni!
It’s a free country, free speech so you can your own opinions. What happened to diversity of opinions , peps ? I just see pure hatred for President Trump. Wonder if these opinions would be the same if Obama said this ?
We’re also free to coment other’s stupidity …
One mans ‘pure hatred” of another in your mind, to another man is just recognition of the despicable pile of manure that you worship. 💩 . Oh. And this “diversity” of opinion went the way of your steaming pie war on diversity of opinion.
By the way. If President Obama said it, it would have just been another remark spoken into thin air. Until the right wing, christian hate machine got ahold of it. Then it would be ‘tan suit gate’ or maybe that ‘weird mustard gate’ all over again. You would truly have something to whine and snivel about.
Truly scandalous I tell you. Truly.
You have your own opinion even if it’s wrong.
LOL. Called your comment out for the ignorance it portrays? LOL again… wrong. Sure buddy. Go have another drink of #cult45
Hey, folks, if Tim Cook shouldn’t spew his politics here, as has been recommended by what seems to be a majority, shouldn’t the rest of us do the same? I don’t want to hear your politics, and I’m sure you don’t want to hear mine. This is a web site devoted to things Apple. If I want to read about politics, I sure as hell wouldn’t do it here.
Where have you been? MDN is the Mac version of #cult45
Where have you been? Citizen X is the hell version of #satan666
Sure il duce. Got it.
Citizen Xhit, why are you such a rude person? You might have met all these famous people but you seem so horrible.
Given this truth it’s no wonder you feel the need to boast of your amazing connections (all in the distant past) and that you feel the need to show your intelligence and lord it over the readers of MDN.
Is your life so worthless that is, in 2019, is the best you got? Life in cult #satan666 has really cheap thrills, it seems, I’d have gotten a much better deal than you if I’d sold my soul to the devil.
Preening and showing of my “intelligence” to an Internet forum isn’t how I’d be spending my devil-delivered powers, but it seems to be your shtick.
I expect much better and more than a person who met Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, managed a store, was on video and etc etc, but in your old age, grumpy old man who tells people to get off his cyber MDN lawn seems to be it.
Steve Jobs made a dent in the universe, but your massive intellect is taking the biggest load of jello you can find and hoping to make a scratch on a diamond.
Quantity doesn’t equal quality, all those achievements of yours mean nothing when the person you show yourself to be day in and day out is a douche.
Regarding Citizen X: I suspect he’s lying about all his claimed Apple relevances. If his boasts were true he’d have a lot more important things to do than try to bully us with his supposed superior Apple importance and try to belittle our opinions. His comments have no extra value over ours. Don’t let him pull that crap.
Sure it is douche. You’ve got it all right, “citizen X” (of the Communist persuasion}.
Go live with your buddy Owebama the destroyer and leave us free of your TDS.
And quit using my handle. I was using citizen long before you co-opted it.
grow up.
Uck Foff, Citizen Xhit
Heck with the Home button. The House button is about to be pressed. That should bother him more.
“Oh, yes, this time they’ll get him!” says every TDS-afflicted addled Lib — on some trumped up charge (pun intended) and the Big Gubmint Establishment Globalist Libs will finally be able negate the will of the people by removing their duly-elected president in a soft coup.
Do us all a favor, hold your breath while you wait.
LOL… sheesh.
If he is proven to be a TRAITOR, they should remove him. Conspiring with foreign governments to influence a US election is not upholding the Constitution. In fact, it is TREASON.
Sorry but all the actual evidence of colluding with foreign governments, weaponizing the DOJ and FBI to target political opposition, illegal spying and fabricating evidence is squarely on the Democrats. I don’t like Trump’s personality but he’s absolutely been targeted by those who are willing to Ignore the rule of law because The election didn’t go their way.
The scary thing is how misinformed and ignorant the Trump haters all are. Learn to separate personal opinion from fact. Demand to hear counter arguments. Question what you hear since journalism is dead.
All the evidence is from his own mouth and transcript which he released. Anyway, this is an investigation, if it were a witch-hunt it would be on the House floor already.
Geez I try to avoid getting involved in politics here but on this one I can’t it’s too frightening to ignore, that argument would by any logic whatsoever be aimed against Trump and his acolytes and mischievous cronies, not in support of him. It’s frightening just how he can manipulate so many minds to think the exact opposite of the reality, just because they are so desperate to believe it! It’s reminiscent of the thirties in Germany. And we used to laugh at Jobs reality distortion field, that was funny this is anything but.
“The scary thing is how misinformed and ignorant the Trump haters all are.”
The real problem is that the Trump haters are incredibly gullible and too stupid to know that they are guidable and that they are being lied to by the libturds.
Well said. Indeed “journalism is dead” and the weaponizing of intelligence agencies ran rouge under President Obama. The current investigations will find the truth unfairly targeting citizen Trump by the deep state and Democratic Party. Look forward to heads rolling and Clinton, Clapper, Comey and others in handcuffs…

Are they Democratic facts? They are facts. Even Trump now admits to tit for tat.
On a more serious note…
Why don’t you volunteer to be the guy he “shoots on Fifth Avenue”, but a head shot, that will have no effect.
donny was the poster boy for reckless irresponsible entitled liberalism. then the GOP selected him as puppet in chief when they realized that 30% of Americans think reality tv is real. too bad they brought in the biggest swamp creature ever to inhabit the white house.
vote out both parties 2020
russian troll alert. anyone who uses the term landslide is obviously not living west of Moscow. a duopoly market doesn’t yield a landslide either way unless illegal gerrymandering has taken place. the only people posting bs that the gop will dominate now and for years to come are putin puppets who actually think oligarchy is normal and acceptable. that single party rule is better. it is not!!!!! there must be checks and balances.
If Trump Tower is at risk of falling due to a landslide, perhaps Dickhead Don should resign and get to work on those infrastructure improvements he never could get to.
I just think he likes the big red button sat on his desk.
I like the Home button. And Touch ID can be used with iPhone at an off angle (not dependent on camera and sensors having access to my face). Plus, I even like having “handles” (thicker bezel along two side of screen); makes holding device horizontally, especially with iPad, much easier.
I can use that same gesture now, with or without a physical Home button. If the new way was SOOOOO much better, I’d be using the gesture mostly and ignoring button. The “swipe up” way is fine, but I just keep pressing the Home button. It’s simply more convenient and intuitive, if a Home button is present.
Apple has to combine a home button (Touch ID) and a trackpad, the kind BlackBerry used yesteryears) so that you do not have to glide your fingers all over the screen, and the size of a phone no longer become a matter when you can easily reach any point of a baseball field size screen from a tiny central point, a home button. . Just move your finger tip on a tiny trackpad. BB’s trackpad was tiny (5mmx5mm?) but Apple’s home button is much larger. I do not like a Face ID and even believe it was almost a gimmick to jack up and maintain the price when they were running out of innovation. Touch ID is much better and more logically fits for the purpose.
I wanted to reply on Twitter with the Trump “wrong” meme so bad.
I give telephone tech support to a bunch of friends around the country. Just recently six of them got their first phone without a home button.
Every one of them said that within the first day, switching to the new home-button-free phone was totally painless and totally natural. Same for FaceID. They all love it.
Same way I felt.
To tell the truth, I really don’t care which ID method would be beter. Both are good and it all comes down to a personal preference and no one should have any difficulty to use one mehod over the other. I perosnally prefer Touch ID with home button for many reasons including the use of Apple Pay (touch payment is ubiquitous in Canada), unlocking bank apps, 1 Password and myriad of other apps for one securely “with my own will”. I do admit I developed a bit of prejudice over what Apple (mostly the current management, especially Cook) do and didhas been doing ever since the X, when they significantly jacked up the price, hyped it up, super cycled up, Face ID, OLED, sudden stop of disclosure of unit sales and all, and I constantly teased about it. Other than that, I am sure both ID methods should be useful in its own right. Apple still have to explain 1 in 1,000,000 chance of security failure for FID and 1 in 50,000 for TID etc. Unles Apple also can explain how they arrived the difference quantitatively, it remains a meaningless propaganda, since the seurity level of the system as a whole is determined by the weakest link of secuirty chain such as the strength of pass code and many others.
Changing the subject, as I understand it, Apple went for the Face ID in an effort to eliminate bezel size as much as possible (no chin) and their inability to install fingerprint ID embedded under screen, which Chinese are now doing, leaving a huge pair of horns in top. OK, fine. What about bringing true-depth cameras and other sensors back down to chin and between big legs, eliminating the “top-notch” (pun intended). It may make the FID a bit less senitive to the phone angle. Selfie? No problem. Use it upside down (bring camera notch on top) and manipulate images to a proper direction later or a software would do it automatically. With a bit of useability, I may swing either way. TID or FID. I don’t care much. Other considerations makes my choice of phone. I pick the one I believe slightely more convenient.
A microcosm of Trumps whole thinking, change is bad the old ways are best so let’s just push them hard, yes it works short term but leaves you worse off 5 or 10 years down the line when the goalposts have shifted elsewhere. But hey he can blame someone else for that failure from the sidelines. Very short sighted but can have personal benefits during your own time in charge. If he were in control of Apple the company would be finished, it would just most likely be during the next guys stewardship, hell even Cook would look like an innovative genius by comparison
TouchID was an issue when wearing gloves (which where I am was not often), but whilst it is faster the majority of the time I have had a fair few instances where FaceID has resulted in me entering my password because it hasn’t recognised my face straight away. TouchID was also easier if you weren’t holding the phone directly in front of your face – which I often wasn’t if it was on my desk and I was working. I wouldn’t go back, but I don’t think FaceID is perfect by any means and there’s definite arguments to be made for TouchID being easier.
People with small hands do have trouble with the swipe. It’s true.
As everybody here has been telling the iPhone SE fans, there’s no problem. You just have to stop what you are doing, put down everything but your phone, and use both hands. One size fits all in the phablet era.
People can’t cope with the idea that Trump was finally right about something.
After 3 years, he got one thing correct. Should we laugh or cry?
People like irrational perpetually blind Mike, TXUser, Gotcha, Sean and the rest of the hard core leftist ilk, yes, you are CORRECT…
Russian troll Goeb hates real Americans. Fsck off Goeb.
There are advantages and disadvantages to both processes. Why does politics have to enter this discussion?
The orange monkey is clueless to the detriment of the worlds population. Be scared. Very scared of what happens when you give a monkey power.
What a moron. He even divides Apple users.
Ridiculous to blame other people’s choices and action on one person. Highly illogical and does not compute…
If he wants to send a message to Tim Cook, why does he send it via Tweet?
***hole.
