[Yesterday], Apple revealed a new iPad, one with a 10.2-inch display to replace the previous most-popular model, the original 9.7-inch display-toting iPad. Since the change was made, Apple’s given an update to their official Apple Store “Certified Refurbished” collection of devices. Since yesterday, Apple’s discounted the 5th and 6th-generation refurbished iPads further discounts, pushing the floor for refurbished iPad prices down to $219 USD…
Newly added to the Refurbished iPad store was a “Refurbished iPad Wi-Fi 32GB – Gold (5th generation),” which was originally priced at $329 at launch, then more recently at $300. Now, with its current refurb discount, this iPad (released in 2017) is in Apple’s refurb store for $219.
Otherwise the least-expensive brand new iPad will currently be the new 32GB Wi-Fi iPad with 10.2-inch display – that’ll run you right around $329 USD.
MacDailyNews Take: Although Apple’s Certified Refurbished products are very good, the best in the business, if you can, spring the extra hundred or so and get yourself a brand spanking new 10.2-inch iPad with the very capable A10 Fusion chip, M10 coprocessor, Smart Connector, Apple Pencil (1st gen.) compatibility, and more!

Saying “least expensive” regarding Apple products perpetuates the fallacy that Apple products are associated with extraordinarily high prices. Better to say “lowest price” which is a true statement.
Saying “least worst” regarding Dingler art perpetuates the fallacy that Dingler art is actually any good, even when free. Better to say “no value” which is a true statement.
iPad mini is best iPad size for me. The 7.9-inch Retina display has just as many pixels compared to the old 9.7-inch display. But smaller size and lightness let’s me easily hold device in one hand. Thumb typing using screen keyboard is very comfortable. The latest model has A12 Bionic, and it runs very smoothly compared to my old iPad mini 4 with A8 (currently shown on Apple’s certified refurb page).
There’s are big technology gap between new iPad mini and previous model. Pay a little more for current model, if you want iPad mini. That just released entry-level 10.2-inch iPad uses A10 Fusion, so iPad mini with A12 Bionic will be usable and supported for a LONG time.
