A serious hurricane is headed for the US, bringing with it the potential to cause “massive damage” to parts of the southeastern and mid-Atlantic United States…

Adrian Kingsley-Hughes for ZDNet:

Hurricane Dorian is coming, at 105 mph, Dorian is the strongest storm of the Atlantic hurricane season so far. It is forecast to make landfall as a Category 4 storm on Monday, with sustained winds of around 130 mph. If that happens, it will be the strongest hurricane to strike Florida’s East Coast since Andrew in 1992.

  1. Latest forecast (Friday 11pm AST) has a 50% chance that the storm will turn north without the eye landfalling at Palm Beach. If that happens, I pray that the Usual Suspects can avoid Chosen One jokes.

  2. Update: Florida dodged a bullet.

Thankfully the sharpie-happy president that felt it necessary to add Alabama to the threat zone was wrong, again. Not that his remaining supporters would care.

“I suggested yesterday at FEMA that, along with Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, even Alabama could possibly come into play, which WAS true. They made a big deal about this…” – The Donald @ 2 Sep 2019

The idiot can’t even trust the word of the his own administration’s department (NOAA) that is SPECIFICALLY tasked to provide him as accurate weather forecasting as is scientifically possible. Trump instead prefers to pull it out of his ass. As usual.

Dorian, as was hoped and predicted, turned north toward a low pressure area, missing the Florida and Georgia mainland — and coming nowhere near Alabama. Keep insulting weather forecasters, Trump, it looks reeeeeeal presidential. Maybe next week you can take a sharpie to your debt projections. Oh, who are we fooling. Trump cares nothing other than when can get back to his pep rallies and golfing. Hurrah.
