Apple and Google are rolling out dozens of new emojis that include cute critters, of course, but also expand the number of images of human diversity.
Apple Inc. is releasing new variants of its holding hands emoji that allow people to pick any combination of skin tone and gender, 75 possible combinations in all. There are also wheelchairs, prosthetic arms and legs, as well as a new guide dog and an ear with a hearing aid.
And then there’s the sloth, the flamingo, the skunk, the orangutan, as well as a new yawning emoji.
MacDailyNews Note: Fifty-nine new emoji designs will be available this fall with a free software update for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Thousands of emoji are currently available. Apple’s new emoji are created based on the approved characters in Unicode 12.0.

If you have to find yourself among 70 emojis, it would probably be easier to just send a photo. This totally misses the point of what emojis are for. They are supposed to represent UNIVERSAL emotions that everyone has.

I don’t use them so I think they’re a waste of resources. I hope the people who do use them are enjoying them. Of course, as large a company as Apple is, I’m sure they can do this and still do more useful things. Emoji won’t sell products and that’s what Apple mainly needs to do. What’s the use of a flamingo emoji, anyway? Two guys holding hands (family members, I hope)? I often wonder how many people actually use emoji but they seem to be a big deal to companies and certain organizations.

Gary is just another of those “very good people” who isn’t bothered when somebody whose mother immigrated in the 1930s tells two Members of Congress whose ancestors have been in America since the 1700s that they should go back where they came from, or when somebody whose father-in-law and former father-in-law were officials in the Communist Party engages in Red-baiting against American elected officials who, unlike him, got more popular votes than their opponents.

And before you say you do, you really don’t or you would KNOW that Presidential campaigns would be run totally different if they were trying to garner the popular vote.
Also, good luck to Cortez being re-elected. She is a hot looking young woman that no one knew but she has blown that advantage. Yes, I meant that exactly how it sounded, the Liberals voted for her because of looks, just like they voted for Obama because of presentation and NOT for what he was presenting.
Plus I doubt Ms. Omar will be able to keep her illegal immigration maneuvers out of the media as she did before….or maybe that doesn’t bother the Muslim population in her district. Guess we’ll see.

I didn’t say a word about the Electoral College. I don’t question that Mr. Trump won the election, just as you have to admit that almost 54% of Americans who voted cast their ballots against him, and that 42% of Americans who were eligible to vote chose not to vote for any candidate. His victory margin in the Electoral College ranks 46th out of 58 presidential elections. That hardly gives him a popular mandate beyond the constitutional limits of his office.
In contrast, Rep. Omar and Rep. Ocasio-Cortez each received 78% of the votes in the 2018 General Election. Rep. Pressley got 59% of the votes in the primary and was elected unopposed in the general. Rep. Tlaib was also elected without major-party opposition. Their constituents knew exactly what they were getting and are entitled to the representives they chose without interference from a Washington swamp creature who received about 20% of the votes cast in those districts.
I don’t particularly like any of these women or the policies they advocate, but neither Donald J. Trump nor I have any moral or legal right to suggest that any US Representative should be thrown out of office—much less the country—for doing their job, which is to exercise their constitutional rights as duly elected members of the Legislative Branch of the Federal Government. With those rights goes the responsibility of keeping a watch on the Executive Branch and protecting the interests of their constituents, rather than those of the swamp creature or a mob in North Carolina.
If you or Mr. Trump disagree with the positions of these Members of Congress,you have every right to argue against them. That is very different from suggesting that they do not have the right to disagree with the President or are somehow unpatriotic for doing so. Singling them out for criticism when there are white men saying essentially the same thing may not be consciously xenophobic, sexist, or racist… but it sure looks suspicious. It is particularly suspicious when the anti-foreign sentiments are coming from somebody whose roots in America are centuries more shallow than some of those he is criticizing.
This has gotten out of control. The collapse of the court system is now imminent.
