  1. If Apple are trying to come off as biased with their comic book hero treatments of these candidate profiles, they’ve succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

    “energetic senator”
“batling corporate interests in the name of the middle class” (you mean, like Apple?)
    “wunderkind bona fides”
    “tough-as-nails”

    Seriously, Apple?

If this isn’t a primary example of what happens when everyone in the “newsroom” thinks the same way, nothing is.

If you haven’t already, read this instead:

In this classic number one New York Times bestseller, Goldberg blew the whistle on the news business, showing exactly how the media slant their coverage while insisting they’re just reporting the facts.

    1. Of course Apple News’ editor-in-chief Laura Kern and her staff can’t see it — because they all think the same.

And, by the way, I bet they picked these four candidates to feature in the press release based on skin color (racist) and gender (sexist) and sexual orientation (heterosexual bias).

I can almost hear the Apple News discussion:
“We have a white woman, a black women, an asian man, and (yuck) a white guy, but he’s gay, so that negates his white maleness.”
“Okay, that’s good. Cook will approve.”

The Democrats always see skin color, gender, sexual orientation first. Then they have the gall to accuse others of being racists, sexists, and homophobes.

I hope real caring people who think they’re Democrats will wake up someday. Maybe crap like this from the coastal Libs who make up “Apple News” will help to open their eyes.

      1. Gee, whiz, descriptions of a Democratic candidate’s positions based on what the candidates themselves have said sounds like a Democrat speaking. How brilliant of y’all to notice that! How many of you have actually looked at Apple News to see all the material criticizing the candidates below the top material that just quotes campaign press releases. It is hardly bias to let someone describe their own positions before quoting their critics

        1. Gee, what a surprise the MDN FAMOUS FAKE CONSERVATIVE is clueless again.

I don’t have 12 Monkeys, the following three will suffice nicely…

          🙈🙉🙊

      2. “The Democrats always see skin color, gender, sexual orientation first. Then they have the gall to accuse others of being racists, sexists, and homophobes.”
Hoof in mouth comment since you are seemingly the only one pointing out skin colour, gender and sexual orientation – as if it matters. Which is the very definition of racism.
        Do try to wise up.

    2. Thanks for the link, awesome.

“Apple today introduced a new candidate guide in Apple News, providing a timely, trusted and comprehensive look”

      Comprehensive look?

Could not find the guide speaks volumes. That said, if true from the screenshots posted positive portrayals of resumes is not a “comprehensive look.” Damnit!

That “look” should INCLUDE gaffes and the funding behind the candidate curtain.

Ooooh, new paradigm and heads explode…

    3. First Whatever, a Fox News plant on MDN, has chosen to ignore what Apple has done and instead chosen to plug a book — an OPINION piece with an Orwellian doublespeak title – from a political pundit. What a surprise.

What could and should have been a good book by Bernie falls flat because HE IS TOO LAZY TO FOLLOW THE MONEY. The book is a lot of sensationalist BS, affixing labels to to political adversaries while ignoring identical actions from the home team. The book could more properly be titled: “Lazy reporting: What I did for 28 years and now can say in my own book now that CBS dismissed me for low ratings”. To create conflict, as all political hacks do, the book takes an extreme “us versus them” approach. That’s the key sign that Goldberg is more interested in picking stories to illustrate his own biased views than to objectively cover ALL SIDES of each story. Did his bosses demand that he slant the news to the left? Goldberg claims this, and he probably believes it. But what really happened is that CBS demanded that Goldberg water down his reporting to a lower common denominator to attract more ratings from a stupid populace. Goldberg’s one-sided stories therein belie the title of the book.

The world is not two dimensional, and anyone who claims it is is a stooge. Goldberg falls into that role and then spins out a book that distorts the obvious in the least enlightening way.

Everyone who lambasts mainstream media as being “liberal” misses the truth by miles. The Mainstream Media isn’t liberal, it is lazy and it is for sale to the highest bidder, whether that is conservative or liberal. The entire political spectrum of infotainment uses shallow sensationalism to sell its products. Stop pretending that greed and laziness aren’t the dominant biases. Right leaning “news” is just as vapid and fact free as the gossip rags of the left, all are just salesmen for the corporations that want to brainwash the consumer into greater dependency.

If all media was liberal, then explain AM radio, Sinclair Media, ClearChannel/IHeartRadio, thousands of evangelical publications, and the #1 cable outlet for political sensationalism, Fox News, a division of the Australian Murdoch empire along with what used to be a good newspaper, the WSJ. What about the shrieking mad and thankfully failing corrupt NRA, which has nothing to do with sporting anymore (yes, I am a gun owner and hunter) ? Not to mention Trump’s State Media, Breitbart. Are these not mainstream or not conservative enough ? Can’t have it both ways folks. This stuff is both conservative and mainstream. All of them have been moving further to the extreme right at an alarming rate. Moderates like me have been abandoned basically without any representation in government or media.

Stop shilling for the extremes. There is a middle ground on every issue, you don’t need to tear the nation apart to score political points.

      1. “Everyone who lambasts mainstream media as being “liberal” misses the truth by miles.”

Absolutely not, Mike. Proud to LAMBAST the liberal media at every opportunity given their failure to collectively uphold the standards of fair and balanced journalism.

Guess you have not noticed the number of newspapers that shuttered in the last ten years or filed for bankruptcy.

Over 90% of journalists are registered Democrats a trend going forward for decades. Most of them are politically correct and some are leftist SJW extremists. Just turn on MSNBC, CNN or read the NYT and WP. Hello?

Your tedious post is a volume of fiction that totally ignores REALITY. Yes, Fox News is the big dog of conservative journalism followed by Briebart and others.

But what you neglected to say time and time again is the overwhelming majority of media outlets are liberal. It’s a FACT!

Desperately trying to ignore it and equate biased evenly distributed equally 50-50 while referencing corporate ownership is a fool’s errand. It does NOT EXIST because newsrooms are fiercely independent from ownership and as long as the green rolls in, the bias is irrelevant.

You are TOTALLY out of your league on this topic. Get a grip already, SHEESH …

  2. If you’re a fool, you believe the Russia collusion lie fake news stemming from the Hillary Clinton DNC bought and paid for steele dossier TO stage a coup of the DONALD Trump presidency, a duly elected president by the people.

Remember Hillary Clinton and the dnc had the fix in for Bernie Sanders too. No matter the votes the super delegates were paid off 100 percent for Hillary. She should be in jail if for her illegal server let alone selling our uranium to Russia.

The socialist left has taken over the democrats
The deep state is real. The cia and fbi and state run fake news media has all been weaponized against the people of the usa.

Trump has done pretty well considering
This non stop assault and what did they find ? Nothing.

And AG Barr has indictments coming.

For this election you’re either going to vote Trump and stand for the capitalism and the constitution that made the usa great or you’re a useful idiot racing towards the lies of “free everything” and socialism.

If you want socialism please just move to Venezuela. Stop messing with the usa.

Vote for freedom. Vote for capitalism. vote for
    Your boarders. Your country.
    Vote for Trump

    MAGA 2020

    Trump

Btw what a Clown car of candidates get out the popcorn

Oh and to know that google will skew news and search results to oust trump? They’re communists. Don’t give them a dime.

  3. “Bias” shrieks First Whatever, quoting a Fox News pundit.
If you can’t admit your histerical and historic record here slamming Democrats, whilst lauding Trump’s dog_whistle_style divisive rhetoric, then you need to explain your irony fail.

    1. I. Bernard Goldberg wrote “Bias” about his time working for CBS News. As it says rather clearly on the cover of the book “Bias.”

II. The rest of your rant is a complete non sequitur that has nothing to do with the allegation that Apple News treatment of these candidates looks and seems biased.

      III. You’ve got nothing.

      1. Factchecker, you are incorrect. Goldberg wrote his bitter book after he was canned from CBS. He comes off as a whiner, jealous of more successful news anchors. If you had read the book….

        1. “Factchecker, you are incorrect. Goldberg wrote his bitter book after he was canned from CBS.”

NO, you are “incorrect” as usual Mike. Factchecker is 100% correct and did not mention the timing when the book was published. You nitpicked absent facts. What’s your problem?

Bernie worked for a liberal media outlet. As a conservative he wrote a best selling DAMNING book after his employment ended.

          I REPEAT, What’s your problem?…

    1. Do you have any actual substance to contribute to the discussion? Oh, wait, no, you’re an “Orange Man Bad” Non-Player Character. How silly of me to ask for anything meaningful from you.

Note that most, if not all, of the leftist Democrat replies here are and will be attacks on commenters that do not touch the actual crux of the issue, that Apple News is biased, leans left, and that these candidate profiles are ridiculous and embarrassing, but Apple staffers are so submerged in groupthink that they obviously can’t even come close to seeing it.

  4. A PC Box is so liberating. With actions like this I´m becoming more convinced to switch platform. I don´t want and don´t need a company telling me how to think. Free thinking is to be creative, isn´t it what Apple always said in the past. I guess the past died with Steve.

    1. Mr. Trump’s friend Kim has the right idea: radios in North Korea are preprogrammed only to receive government propaganda, like the wall screens in Orwell’s 1984. Clearly, Apple should only be reflecting what Big Brother thinks about the Democratic candidates, not a wide spectrum of views or even what the candidates say about themselves. How can Apple News not fall into line with the Party line of the Dear Leader? /s

      1. “Mr. Trump’s friend Kim has the right idea: radios in North Korea are preprogrammed only to receive government propaganda, like the wall screens in Orwell’s 1984.”

The /s label means nothing and will not give you cover. As usual the FAKE CONSERVATIVE is spewing more propaganda because of his HATRED for President Trump.

Never a kind word, not once, for a president that turned the economy around and set several all time records. No recognition or appreciation of the most tireless working president in history.

Like the liberal media you adore and worship, simply more raw partisanship HATRED 24/7/365.

Now that’s sad, but I don’t feel for you one particle…

      1. Oh yeah like dems are the pillars of truth LOL!!!!!!! GO SUCK a lollypop SNOWFLAKE!
The arrogance of libtards like you makes me sick.
It is your kind who lacks critical thinking skills.
        Intolerance is your trademark.
