The size of the global market for true wireless hearables reached 17.5 million units in quarter one (Q1) of 2019, growing 40% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), according to the findings of Counterpoint Research’s Hearables Market Tracker. While all regions continued to grow, North America and Europe were the fastest growing regions.

Apple’s market share remained at the same level seen in the last quarter, failing to grow in spite of the launch of its second generation AirPods. Still, it dominates the market…

    1. Nope – nice units but to get good sound quality you need to have a good ear fit. The fit would change during a run and never sounded as good as the AirPods.

      I think it all depends on your ears. I’ve heard some people don’t like the AirPods fit but for me they are perfect.

      Also the recharge case is a brilliant concept and whilst the Jaybirds I used had good battery life, you could not recharge on the fly without power.

  1. I find it interesting how investment publications “flavor” their reporting.

    “Apple’s market share remained at the same level seen in the last quarter, failing to grow in spite of the launch of its second generation AirPods.”

    “Failing to grow” sounds so negative. Why not add a phrase such as, “beyond its already dominant hearables market share of 85% (or whatever the exact number is).”

    Then there is the dismissive, “Still, it dominates the market…” as if Apple needs an excuse to have a market share of less than 100%.

    It will be interesting to see where the new Beats hearable falls in the next ranking.
