Catalyst is Apple’s name for the huge-big-massive set of iOS APIs it is bringing to macOS to enable developers to swiftly port iPad apps to Macs, while the re-branded iPad OS reflects that the tablet is now developing a unique identity as a productive tool…
Most iPad professionals use Safari extensively, and many then get a little frustrated at the need to instruct their tablet to download the full desktop version of the sites they visit.
iPad OS fixes this by automatically presenting the full site, optimized for touch.
That’s good for general browsing, but even better if you use web apps like Squarespace or WordPress. (And you can also choose to only see specific sites in mobile view, if you want)…
MacDailyNews Take: iPadOS 13’s new text handling gestures will, hopefully, allow users to select and manage text better than is possible in iOS 2 and prior. Along with myriad other improvements, iPadOS should make iPad a much better solution not only for enterprise workers, but for everyday iPad users, too!

iOS 2 didn’t allow selecting text…..think you meant iOS 12 since it was called iPhoneOS 2 back then.
I still say alternatives, not partners. If you have a Mac, you really don’t need an iPad. And most people who have an iPad, don’t need a Mac to go with it.
iOS 13 makes the iPad more of an alternative than ever.
I mostly use a Mac when at home, but I use my iPad a hell of a lot too, especially when away from home. What I don’t think I need any more is a MacBook.
Happy to know about all the upgrades and can’t wait to try them. I will try my new Ipad while playing at online casino for real money USA where the better my device works the better game I have.
