Welcome to the new MacDailyNews!

Cleanup in aisle 6!

And… welcome to the new MacDailyNews!

We hope you like what we’ve done with the place. Check it out on your Mac, iPad, and iPhone. (It’s responsive.)

Thank you so very, very much to our web developer, Kyle Evans (kyle@kyleevans.io), for his excellent, extremely efficient work!

We’re not going to tell you how fast this was turned around because we don’t want to encourage anyone to be as awful clients as we were/are. We gave him an impossible deadline and no time to work, but here we are, soft-launching on the Friday before WWDC, days ahead of our goal!

So, please, let us know what you think!

If you find anything amiss, please just email us (webmaster@macdailynews.com) and we’ll get right on it.

We hope you like the new MacDailyNews!

      1. ^^^^^ This! A thousand times, I agree with Mack’s comment above. I love the new look and functionality. The old one with the incessant eye-popping, flashing and blinking cheesy commercials drove me bonkers. I think I’m ready to turn off my ad blocker unless things revert to the prior madness.

  1. I see that comments are all “in-line” and not threaded as they used to be. This makes it more difficult to follow comments that relate to previous comments.

Perhaps this can be improved upon….?

    1. Comment replies actually are nested. This is just the first reply to a comment in this article. The changes in comments and replies should be easier to follow than before (a time about which we will not speak).

  2. Looks great! I’ll second Brawndo Drinker’s comment—I used to quickly navigate away from Mac Daily News because spending more than a couple of minutes here would cause my Mac’s cooling fans to crank up. No more.

  3. Very nice, I tweaked the font size down one step from the default and it’s perfect on my SE… love the infinite scroll on the news, opinion and how-tos, much leaner and cleaner look too. Well done, seamless to this user. Having migrated a few WordPress sites, kudos to your team for a job well done.

  4. We have always thought of design as being so much more than just the way something looks. It’s the whole thing. The way something actually works on so many different levels. Design defines so much of our experience. A profound and enduring beauty in simplicity, clarity and efficiency. True simplicity is derived from so much more than just the absence of clutter and ornamentation. About bringing order to complexity. – Jony Ive
