iPhone 11 design shown without its massive camera bump

“We already know everything there is to know about the upcoming iPhone 11 series design, which will look quite similar to Apple’s iPhone XS design from last year and its iPhone X design from the year before,” Zach Epstein writes for BGR. “That’s right, just as it did with the iPhone 6 design that stuck around for three consecutive years, Apple plans to reuse the same design once again for three years in a row.”

“A report from the world’s top Apple insider several months ago said that the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max will use new frosted glass backs to change the look a bit, and it might even come in a new finish,” Epstein writes. “Then on the camera front, Apple is moving from the dual-lens setup we all know to a triple-lens configuration for the main camera. Therein lies the source of people’s complaints this time around, and a new set of renders imagines what Apple’s next-generation flagship phones would look like without the big camera bump everyone is talking about.”

MacDailyNews Take: As we asked some time back:

What’d be wrong with slightly thicker iPhone with more battery life and a flush camera assembly? — MacDailyNews, December 21, 2015

If Apple made an iPhone model that was the smartphone equivalent of the Panasonic Toughbook — thick, heavy, full of battery, and virtually indestructible — they’d never be able to make enough of them. — MacDailyNews, November 2, 2018

  1. @MDN totally agree. Slightly thicker with longer battery and flush camera would be sooooo much better. Also, why do we need such a big camera on the ipad’s to cause a bulge. Just shove the biggest camera that will remain flush.

Although, the new iPad Pros are so difficult to pick up on a flat surface (since there is no bevel off the bezel) that having the bump helps a little with picking it up.

  2. It’s not going to matter what the next iPhone looks like if a whole nation of people is going to boycott Apple products. Apple will be pretty much done for at that point. I always got a kick out of when Tim Cook went to China to visit the stores and everyone was smiling with pleasure. Now those same people are ready to toss their Apple products away and curse Tim Cook. You can’t trust anyone. Of all the companies who deal with China, it just had to be Apple to take the biggest losses. I find it rather sickening. Camera bumps are the least of my worries.

  3. i love my iPhone SE because of the great camera and the fact that it is flush, no bumps and ridges. I just dont see why the bigger i Phones have the nasty bumps
