“Apple today uploaded six new videos focused on showing off iPad Pro features, continuing on with its ‘What You Can Do With iPad’ series promoting the new 11 and 12.9-inch tablets,” Juli Clover reports for MacRumors.
“Most of the videos are over a minute long and feature different iPad Pro apps, features, and capabilities, ranging from handwriting a note with Apple Pencil to creating music,” Clover reports. “Multitasking with multiple windows, making notes with Apple Pencil, browsing the web, using Maps, watching videos, reading with the Books app, annotating photos, using drag and drop, video editing, typing with both the on-screen keyboard and the Smart Keyboard Folio, and making music with GarageBand are all shown off in the video. ”
“All of Apple’s videos link to a ‘Look what you can do with iPad Pro’ website that first launched in January,” Clover reports. “Apple says that all of the videos were filmed with the iPad Pro, as were the previous videos in the series.”

We find that there are many older users longing to make iPad work like a laptop, because that’s what they know.
Take a look at a twelve-year-old who’s only really ever used an iPad for personal computing. It’s an eyeopener. It’s like looking into the future.

If you want a trackpad for your iPad, you already have one:
Hold your finger down anywhere on the iOS keyboard to access the trackpad feature for precise cursor control. To select text, simply place your cursor in your desired position, then use a second finger to tap the screen and the text selection tool will appear for use.

I see no value in an iPad by a Mac and be done with it.
This is why Mac users are nervous about the near and long term future of the mac. Nice new ads for the ipad and iPhone, rarely if not never for the Mac.

These how to ads are Microsoftian and are also pre-Jobsian II era. But delight should not be based on utilitarianism.
Though it’s possible to do that stuff on an iPad, it’s so much easier and robust on a Mac. Sorry, Apple, pros aren’t buying any of this nonsense.
I like all these ads. They each show compelling uses of iPads – even things that make iPads easier to use than Macs. Not to diminish Macs, but to highlight the Pencil function, and the drag and drop and the apps and the ease of use. All very good. I think they can appeal to young and old. Good stuff.

I dropped my iPad pro 11 inch about 2 feet to the concrete floor, with the case on. Screen shattered. I advise not tossing it around and flipping it and stuff like the first guy.
And I just yesterday tossed mine two feet over and three feet down to a wooden floor in the Apple Folio Keyboard Case for the iPad 12.9” iPad Pro and not a single happened to it. Not even a scratch. It fell out of the case a foot and a half from the case and it came out fine. I guess it’s all in how it lands. Sorry about yours. But ACPP should cover yours, thankfully.
Love my iPad Pro 10.5. I feel Theloniousmac’s pain. Every iPad I’ve bought over the years has eventually lost its life in a fall to the floor or the driveway. So two solutions. (1) For me, Apple Care is a must-have on iPad Pros. Apple just replaced my broken 10.5 iPad Pro with 256g with a brand new 10.5 equivalent for $49, which is the accidental damage deductible. (2) There are some wonderfully thin and light hard-shell cases that provide excellent “drop” protection. E.g., for literally $10.22 I just bought A KHOMO brand protector. Fits my device like a glove and is reinforced at the corners.
Flipping your iPad isn’t a problem. Dropping it on a hard surface is :p
