MacDailyNews Take: Oh, yes, it’s snappy!

    1. Yeah, it’s a drag that you’re still getting enough productivity out of an eight-year-old Mac that you don’t feel the need to upgrade. Poor baby.

And note, I’m writing this from my non-upgradable 2011 iMac that’s still fast enough to do 98% of the high-end print production projects I need to bring home from the office.

I’m sad I can’t upgrade my home computer to the latest OS. But pleased that it’s fully functional eight years later and going strong!

      1. You are confusing professional computer with a lightweight consumer machine which is all Apple makes anymore.

A brand new Mac doesn’t keep up with a Windoze box that costs hundreds less. Apple’s configurations restrict pros to have significantly weaker / fewer CPU and GPUs. Almost every Mac is thermally throttled, customers pay a huge premium for thinness that actually hurts performance.

An 8 year old Mac is good for amateurs and low efficiency work only. Seriously.

        Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Resolves WiFi issues after upgrading to Mojave?

Took me a whole damn week after essentially bricking my Mac mini with Mojave before finding this article.

This was the only article that I ever found on the subject. No external drives working. No WiFi. Was pissed as hell with Apple.

After finding the article and fixing the issue a few months ago, I truthfully must admit that I really like Mojave. My 2012 Mac mini really does seem to be faster. Only one screen saver that I had for years proved to be not compatible with Mojave. I had done my homework on the key programs that I use though.

Anyway wanted to share the link to the article in case the update fixes some other WiFi issue.
