Often, though, I find salespeople in tech stores are prepared to be remarkably honest about the new, new thing. Or even the slightly new, new thing.”
“So, I went to Best Buy, which, for many people, is the everyperson’s tech retail store. At Best Buy, I’ve generally found a reasonable level of objectivity,” Matyszczyk writes. “I wandered to the iPad table and took a look at the Mini on display. I hadn’t even had time to poke at it when a salesman arrived.”
I “asked: ‘What about Android or other tablets? Is there any of those that’s comparable to this?'” Matyszczyk writes. “‘There’s no point even looking at them,’ he said. ‘They’re cheaper, but the iPad is so much better that it’s a joke.'”

The main problem with that is those salesmen are likely pointing customers to some touch-display Windows laptops that supposedly offer the best of both worlds. Apple iPads are also constantly being criticized for not having a powerful enough operating system and the necessary ports that most laptops come with. Except for Apple’s iPads (and possibly the dirt-cheap Amazon Fire tablets), it seems as though tablets have mostly fallen out of favor.
You may have a point. Google has been gradually pushing towards a single Chromebook/Android device making tablets less relevant in the Android camp. Gotta hand it to Amazon though for keep their tablet relatively relevant by creating a charging dock that makes the Fire tablets function similar to the Amazon Show.
This is a silly story and means nothing.
1) Best Buy is absolutely not the place to get informed tech advice.
2) A salesperson is going to sell you the most expensive thing you’re not going to return. That’s iPad.
i agree with point 1 but as far as selling the most expensive thing at best buy… sales people dot make a commission nor are they judged by sales so that probably was an honest (and correct) opinion

I do agree with salesman. I had a lenovo’s laptop, it’s given me so much troubles within six months since purchased, I have to send to North Carolina to fix it then it resend back to me in CA and it didn’t get any better. After a while, I decided buying a 2nd one, but problem persisted. I get frustrated throwing the towels. My kids advised try Apple’s MacBook Air. Immediately, I purchased a MacBook Air, it’s last for five years long now. I couldn’t be happier. Apple makes wonderful, quality, long lasting products. Since then everything in my house is Apple products. LOL.
Until someone makes docking station for professionals, nothing changes, it’s still a toy. If I’m going to work on this, I need to be able to plug in 24 inch monitor, printer, real keyboard ( possibly mouse), and work on it as unix system ( or something along the lines) Then at the end of the day, take it out of the dock, continue working on it on my commute home until i leave it on my night table at night.
