“The idea that the iPhone 11 would feature a triple-camera system in a rectangular formation — three cameras plus the flash — was first raised by Onleaks back in January,” Benjamin Mayo reports for 9to5Mac. “Japanese blog Macotakara today corroborates the mockups with sourcing from Chinese suppliers.”
“The site says the design of the new iPhone camera system is similar to the camera module seen in the Huawei Mate 20 and may be available on both the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max successors, but limited to higher-capacity storage tiers,” Mayo reports.
“The Wall Street Journal previously reported that the high-end iPhone 11 would feature the triple camera system. The wording of that reported intimated that ‘high-end’ meant the iPhone XS Max form factor phone,” Mayo reports. “Macotakara says they believe the three-camera system will be included on the 5.8-inch iPhone 11 as well.”

MacDailyNews Take: Expect Apple’s next-gen iPhones to take augmented reality to another, much more useful, level!
We will hear them cry when the first batch sells out within the first 24 hours… “iPhone 11 (2 or 3 cameras) is only an incremental step! No innovation since Steve! Operations genius my a-s!”
All this noise (we can hear it already) as Apple cranks out three updated iPhones on a scale unknown in tech history… just a year after their last phones. We can be sure these updates require the complete cooperation from who knows how many engineering and software departments. Not to mention getting designs and minuscule, high-precision parts from who knows how many global manufacturers to final assembly. Then finished product is shipped all around the world to everyones eager hands. Hey Apple, keep up the good work. Looking forward to the 11!
I was hoping for 9 cameras but I suppose I’ll make due with three.
Ugh……
The black rendering sucks.. super ugly.
But the 2nd pic, the grey one, looks great ! Well proportioned and positioned…. Unlike the black .
Some Samsung phones already have a 4-camera system. I’m here in Malaysia and I saw one yesterday, the A10. That seemed like more than a few too many cameras.
I have had my fill of iPhones. MacPro. Know what I mean?
They can’t count past ten. The next one will be
the iPhone XSQ Max Headroom.
