    1. I also have a 2010 Mac Pro. Been hanging on, impatiently waiting for a new proper workstation Mac Pro for 3 years now.

Unfortunately I learned the hard way that when you upgrade the video card to a Metal capable card specifically so you can keep up with the newest OSes and software, it breaks Apple OS updates. Now without the original weak card, any macOS update attempts crash ungracefully. Not even an error code or help menu explanation.

I get it that Apple doesn’t give a care about supporting old pros, but the documentation from Apple is useless. There is no workaround offered and Apple has done nothing to fix its shiteous firmware which is obviously designed to prevent users from upgrading their well designed older Pro workstations too much. The hackintosh community are the ones who explained the latest Apple software shortcomings.

I have tried to stay in the legal Mac ecosystem but since Apple no longer manufactures a competitive and upgradeable desktop with the features the 2010 Mac Pro offers, i have been advised to go full on Hackintosh.

I was hoping to avoid sketchy legal grey areas. We are evaluating Windows workstations since our clients are migrating back to Windows anyway.

      Thanks for nothing Pipeline.
