“Foxconn says it’s moving forward with the construction of its Wisconsin facility after talks with White House, according to a statement released Friday, but isn’t clarifying what kind of jobs will be housed at the $10 billion plant,” Sara Salinas reports for CNBC.
“Earlier this week, Louis Woo, special assistant to Foxconn CEO Terry Gou, told Reuters the company was shifting strategy and would offer mostly researcher and engineering jobs in Wisconsin, not the blue-collar manufacturing jobs that were originally promised,” Salinas reports. “The site will function as both an ‘advanced manufacturing facility as well as a hub of high technology innovation,’ Foxconn said in its new statement Friday.”
“Announced at a White House ceremony in 2017, the 20-million square foot campus marked the largest greenfield investment by a foreign-based company in U.S. history and was praised by President Donald Trump as proof of his ability to revive American manufacturing,” Salinas reports. “Foxconn had said it would employee 13,000 U.S. workers at the facility.”

Since the first comment went political, someone should state that the whole point of the odummy administration was to drive jobs offshore and crumble the economy, while herding folks such as jobless blue collars to food stamps. He certainly accomplished that. Trump has reversed that sorry trend, thank goodness. Jobs are booming, wages rising.
I believe Walker tied most WI incentives to job creation, so if such jobs don’t materialize, most incentives won’t either. White collar jobs and lab-jacket jobs still sound great to me!
One might, reasonably or otherwise, suggest that Obama policies drove jobs overseas. People could reasonably debate that. To suggest that Obama willfully intended that result is a conspiracy theory right up there with suggesting that school shootings never happen.
There is no arguing with that, anymore than there can be a fruitful discussion with somebody who says that jobs are booming when the unemployment rate is rising and that wages are rising when the median wage is falling when adjusted for inflation. That’s not fake news from the liberal media, but the data released today by the Trump Administration itself.
Labeling arguments you don’t like as conspiracy theories is simply weak. Check out the history of community activists (agitators) and how they use that divivise tack to achieve their political goals. Also see the doubling of our national debt under BO. Also check out the track record obummercare, where doctor choice fell, while premiums are deductibles soared (Congress and POTUS lied about accepting Obamacare themselves – they immediately exempted themselves from it in favor of the same Cadillac plan they had before). What about the $150B lifeline to the Iranian regime, and $1.5B in cash ransom paid them to release the American sailors? Etc, etc. There is a point where you need to connect the dots.
Wow. Whatever you do, don’t look at the employment rate charts tracking a steady decline since the recession, which we’re now in the coattails of. No sudden amazing improvement when Trump got elected, just a steady continuation of the trend. Seriously, stay away from those facts because your fantasy bubble might burst. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
