“Apple and A24 have teamed up on their first film under their recently formed partnership with ‘On the Rocks,’ Sofia Coppola’s next pic, reteaming her with her ‘Lost in Translation’ star Bill Murray along with Rashida Jones,” Justn Kroll reports for Variety. “Coppola will direct from a script she wrote.”
“The film follows a young mother who reconnects with her larger-than-life playboy father on an adventure through New York,” Kroll reports.
“The acquisition marks a major get for Apple’s first feature production, given the heat a Coppola-Murray package would spark with other studios,” Kroll reports. “‘Lost in Translation’ not only landed Murray an Oscar nomination, but established Coppola as a force in directing circles and would launch the young filmmaker’s career, landing her an Oscar for best screenplay.”

He’s Hollywood Timmy. He’s fascinated with stars and attention as well keeping that pale mug with his creepy grin in the spotlight. Being a gay activist, accepting obscure awards for being a great CEO, and marching in pride parades are somehow more important than looking out for Apple consumers, innovating, and basically just doing his fucking job.
Nothing Rashida Jones is in is a waste.

Um, yes. Yes it does. There are MUCH bigger-league film projects than this. These are certainly three demonstrably talented artists, but I can’t imagine any of them is in the top echelon in terms of Hollywood earners or audience popularity outside the art houses these days.
Murray’s substantial body of comedy film work from the 80s and 90s notwithstanding.
