“After Apple cut its Q1 revenue forecast by $9 billion, CEO Tim Cook reminded employees in a memo obtained by Bloomberg that there are still some bright points, including a record number of new iPhone activations in the US and Canada on Christmas day,” Liam Tung reports for ZDNet.
“The memo, aimed at pepping up staff after cutting its revenue outlook for the first time since 2002, reiterated Cook’s note to investors that it missed its target due to lower than expected iPhone sales in China,” Tung reports. ” Cook told employees that Apple expects to ‘set all-time revenue records in key markets including the US, Canada and Mexico, Western European countries including Germany and Italy, and countries across the Asia-Pacific region like Korea and Vietnam.'”
This week, Apple “also announced that the App Store saw record levels of spending over the holidays totaling $1.22bn between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve,” Tung reports. “The $322m spent on New Year’s Day 2019 was also a single-day record for the App Store.”

Germany is a “Bright Spot”?
Ah yes, Germany, the country in which today Apple had to pull all models of iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 from both its physical and online stores. Further, Apple has had to require all its resellers in Germany return all unsold model 7 and model 8 phones to Apple so they cannot be sold.
With this win in hand, Qualcomm will likely go after the iPhone XS, the iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR next. And, you can count on Qualcomm filing in other countries too.
As I’ve said on this site before, Apple has not had a resounding win in any legal venue since the Franklin case over 35 years ago while suffering many, many major losses (everything from the “Look and Feel” lawsuit of the 90s to the more recent online bookstore fiasco).
Apple’s legal team has been a disaster for decades.
How this requirement to remove iPhones from stores will play out and how it will affect Apple is unknown (certainly not known by Apple’s legal team), but it does not look good with the Germany and China rulings so far.
It’s simple, Apple is an arrogant company driven by greed to suck as much money out of people as they can. They use their customer base to find out problems in their newly released software as they couldn’t give a monkeys about testing it properly themselves and blatantly lie to their fanbase. Still the Apple fanboy sheep brigade proclaim their love for Apple and see nothing wrong with them. If there was a button to send a torpedo to sink the Apple ship I would gladly, with love, with excitement press it 🙂

Er no iSmile…most people just keep buying the same things because that is what they feel should do and haven’t bothered escaping from Apple prison. Apple devices aren’t in a lot of cases chosen out of choice but just forced out in the corporate environment as that is considered in most cases the standard…just like Microsoft Office products. Fortunately it is easier to swap out mobile devices and Apple is more often just seen as money grabbing. Think again.
