Corel Corporation today announced that it has acquired the Parallels business, a global leader in cross-platform solutions best known for its #1-selling software for running Windows on Mac. Corel now offers the complete Parallels product line, including Parallels Desktop for Mac, Parallels Toolbox for Windows and Mac, Parallels Access, Parallels Mac Management for Microsoft SCCM, and Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS). Financial details were not disclosed.

But I’m hoping that the MBP gets a modest 2019 iterative Intel upgrade – new process CPU, low-power ram and maybe the fourth version of the keyboard I’m gradually hating less – so that I can buy a maxxed out version that could run Parallels without reporting to Putin (not saying it ever has, but hey, there was that major security company) – and then I might finally be able to seamlessly access my legacy 10,000 (Corel) WordPerfect files in my Mac environment for use and cutting and pasting for the next five years at least….
….so I wish them luck.
Oh Great Another App Corel Can Bastardize to Death and Never respond to Emails or Support Tickets. GoodBye Parallels just like Roxio which has died a slow ugly death under Corel!
Honestly I found the support from parallels to be pretty poor anyway.
Have need Parallels support only once but it was very good.
Not happy about the selling to Corel, though.
