“Apple today released macOS Mojave 10.14.2, the second update to the macOS Mojave operating system that first launched in September,” Juli Clover reports for MacRumors.
“macOS Mojave 10.14.2 comes three weeks after Apple launched macOS Mojave 10.14.1 with Group FaceTime support and new emoji,” Clover reports.
Clover reports, “The 10.14.2 update introduces performance improvements and bug fixes for issues that weren’t addressed in macOS Mojave 10.14.1.”

We have been using a variety of Tripplite adapters and have not see any issues yet.
I bought an LG UltraWide monitor. 34WK95U
34” 21:9 UltraWide™ WUHD (5120 x 2160) Nano IPS Display. It would not start up properly when restarting the MacBook Pro. This only happened with MacBook Pro 2018 models and the various internal AMD GPUs. It worked fine on 2016 and 2017 MacBook Pros. I could get it to work by restarting, unplugging the monitor while restarting, then plugging the monitor back in when the Apple logo showed up. Now under 10.14.2 it works perfectly.

My office set-up involves a 27″ iMac with a second 27″ Apple Monitor (now discontinued) off to the side. Just wondering has anyone has replaced two large screens with one GIANT screen? And, if so, how has it affected your workflow? Very curious to hear…

Yeah, DavGreg, I’m sure there’s a huge team of engineers building emoji from massive amounts of code instead of fixing bugs.
It can’t possibly be something that requires minimal engineer time and some good graphic designers.
Obviously, it also can’t be that the tech reporters talking about updates tend to focus on things that come with cute graphics.

Hope this fixes a weird problem in my workgroup. Out of eight iMacs running Mojave (various vintages up to and included current models), two have experienced the gray start-up screen-of-death — no start up chime, no white Apple logo, no nothing. Others have experienced extra-long boot up sequences. All are running off external SSD drives as their boot disc.
It’s gotten so bad, I’m afraid to reboot my computer for fear it’ll never start up again… Will cross my fingers for this update.
Thats an odd setup. Have you held down Option key on startup to show the list of bootable devices? Then I think hold down option or the apple key, I forget. The arrow under the icon will change and you can select the default boot device then. Can also try clearing cache if you haven’t done that already by holding down Shift until you see the Login Window. Before doing those steps, can also try flashing the PRAM if you haven’t already. Start the computer and hold down Command+Option+P+R and let it reboot twice.
Cash – We did all those steps. Nothing seemed to work except booting without RAM chips — which seemed to “shock” the system into resetting… So weird.
It’s 12:45 pm Hawaii time. I just checked, and I get that 10.14.1 is the latest. Where does one find this 10.14.2? Not showing in either updates or App Store.
I looked under the Apple logo in the menu bar to get About this Mac then clicked on software update. At first it said I had the latest version (10.14.1). I just left that window open for a while and after about five or ten minutes I noticed it switched to say that there was an update available.
ditto. Checked following the iOS update to see if there was a MacOS update (nada); then saw it notified here, checked again and there it was.
Same here, no update available, and then try again, there it is.

They have moved Mac OS updates to the System Preferences Panel for some weird reason.
Change for the sake of change. Like there is some magical reason that us peons are too dumb to understand, makes them feel superior.
hmmm checked System Preferences for the update, it was done automatically a few minutes ago, and I DON’T have automatic upgrades set.
Ah well, just Apple looking out for my best interests. right
I have to say, I’ve been an eager adopter of what ever OS Apple has put out. Lately with Pipeline in charge, I’m no longer so eager.
I haven’t and won’t for a long time upgrade to Mojave and break half my programs. No thank you.
My time machine icon stays yellow all the time. This started when i installed Mojave. I have to eject the disk, unplug it and plug it back in just to get it to turn green. Oh well, hopefully in the next update.
