Super Micro to review hardware for malicious chips

“Super Micro Computer Inc said on Monday it will review its hardware for any proof of malicious chips as alleged in a recent media report,” Sonam Rai reports for Reuters. “‘Despite the lack of any proof that a malicious hardware chip exists, we are undertaking a complicated and time-consuming review to further address the article,’ the chipmaker said in a letter to its customers dated Oct. 18.”

“A Bloomberg report on Oct.4 cited 17 unidentified sources from intelligence agencies and businesses that claimed Chinese spies had placed computer chips inside equipment used by about 30 companies, including Apple Inc and Amazon.com Inc and multiple U.S. government agencies, which would give Beijing secret access to internal networks. Super Micro denied the allegations made in the report,” Rai reports. “Both Apple and Amazon have denied the allegations. Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook told online news website BuzzFeed on Friday that Bloomberg should retract the story.”

  1. Now being heard and served around an Apple’s home nation near you, nothing burgers, covfefe and would you like a side of malicious chips with that.

I doubt anything will happen about this, heck Chinese spies hiding chips, they can probably get away with a lot more than that, say just like you could get away with dismembering one of them when they visit a foreign consulate. But for a real illustration of getting away with it, check out the latest episode for the hunt of weapons of mass destruction program in Iraq. If it wasn’t for the genocide happening during the search it would be hilarious.

I wonder what sort of flavor the malicious chips will come in.

Oh better put in the /sshjtt tag (satire, story, humor joke, tall tale) just in case.

    1. Did you hear about that mental case named Road Warrior? He decided it was necessary to wear his tinfoil hat 24 hours a day whilst cowering in fear inside a closet in his mum’s basement. What else do you expect from a third-world loser with massive feelings of inadequacy? Poor fellow; he has my deepest pity.

        1. I promised to go easy because another post pointed out your apparent “psychological disorder“ after I pointed out your serial obsessions for the U.S.A. over and over ad nauseam.

So, will simply say U.S.A. is a first-rate nation; the most generous usually first helping other nations around the world in a crisis; the nation that liberated more people in history; the nation that has military bases and sacrificed more lives to protect people around the world: the nation that is eliminating ISIS and other terrorist regimes; the nation that pays more to NATO and the United Nations (unlike your country that is behind); and the nation that most likely would be the first to protect your citizens in a crisis.

Understand you don’t recognize any of that because of a few unhealthy obsessions that you won’t confront and let go. I sincerely hope you get help and most importantly get well soon…

    2. “weapons of mass destruction program in Iraq, weapons of mass destruction program in Iraq, weapons of mass destruction program in Iraq” ad nauseam post after post. Congrats, your unhealthy obsession broke another record…

      1. Yes, the WMD refrain does get a bit tiresome sometimes. But, face it. The invasion of Iraq was a screwup of epic proportions, and the U.S. is not going to escape from the justified ridicule and derision any time soon.

Besides, GoeBlow, you have no leg to stand on when it comes to being critical of repeating dogma on this forum. I have seen your partisan posts a thousand times on this forum and they make no more sense today than they did years ago.

        1. Spot on KingMel, though I never really tire of seeing the pathetic personal insults that derive from the poor insecure types that can’t even begin to justify the genocide and the abject failure to even find a clue as to this weapons of mass destruction program, not to mention the Guanotanamobushobummertrumpo Resort on the Bay.

There is a way to escape the ridicule though. One is to actually find this weapon of mass destruction program in Iraq. Total justification and wow will I ever apologize. The other is for Apple’s home nation to grow a spine, admit to the mistake, and pool their sorry ass troops out of there. I doubt any of that will happen soon.

So in the meantime I’ll enjoy the whine, and there is so much whining.

        2. “I never really tire of seeing the pathetic personal insults”

More importantly, you never really tire of repeatedly launching your own “pathetic personal insults.”

It is clear you need to make a doctor appointment A.S.A.P. …

        3. “GoeBlow,” seriously? OK, you want to play I’ll return the childish insult KingSmell.

My key takeaway, ignoring your personal attacks that mean nothing to me, is you are trying to have it both ways on WMD.

I was against the invasion of Iraq to this day. Harping on WMD as the false reason decades later is an unhealthy obsession and beating a dead horse. You can’t change history.

“U.S. is not going to escape from the justified ridicule and derision any time soon.”

NO, only the anti-war leftists (count two here) will not let it go. Intelligent people realize what happened and accept the reality of imperfect history.

Curve ball: A lot of good was done by the U.S. in Iraq, for one eliminating a murderous dictator regime that enslaved people and invaded sovereign nations and much more. Funny, the left never talks about the positive results to this day.

Get help leftists, get over it after close to two decades and long overdue to move on…

        4. Oh I just realized that you’ve actually said that “The invasion of Iraq was a screwup of epic proportions.” and that’s a really human statement that is right on topic, without any insult to me. That’s the way to do it, I knew that there were some brave humans left in Apple’s home nation.

One thing, and this is not to slight the admiration of your comment but the Iraq invasion isn’t over. It’s going on and on at this present day, every day Iraqis trying to defend their country against an unwanted unethical and immoral invader.

I don’t consider that is was a screw up, I consider that it is a screw up of epic proportions, accentuated by the fact that very few have done what you’ve done sir, and that is make a comment directly focused to the point.

What a refreshing change, thank you sir, I wish more people from Apple’s home nation had what it takes to see the obvious.

        5. “Oh I just realized that you’ve actually said that “The invasion of Iraq was a screwup of epic proportions.” and that’s a really human statement that is right on topic”

No, this is what said: “I was against the invasion of Iraq to this day. Harping on WMD as the false reason decades later is an unhealthy obsession and beating a dead horse. You can’t change history.”

Yes, it was based on dubious intelligence and Dubya had a promise to keep after a high profile media proclamation standing atop a fire truck in NYC after 9/11.

You better sit down. It had more to do with the corporate military complex protecting oil interests. The Bush family has been involved in oil industry for years and certainly knows the right side of their buttered bread. A lot of innocent lives were lost, unfortunately that happens in every war.

That said, not all bad to stop a dictator on a rampage after invading a sovereign nation (Kuwait) to disrupt and control a portion of world oil supplies.

In the end it is certainly a mixed bag. I can understand both sides, but believe more good was done. But as a U.S. taxpayer it cost too damn much! I don’t recall benefiting personally other than enjoying sideshow schadenfreude a dictator was dead.

So please, let the issue die in the history books already. We have more than enough broken records around here.

          Thanks for your response…

        6. Oh I should have pointed out that my post was to
KingMel. Most people have figured it out how threads work but obviously but obviously not everyone.

Fascinating when someone asks you to post to them and you do but they can’t leave you alone. Just like that search for that weapons of mass destruction program. The obsessed just can’t let it go and today, yes today they are still killing innocent Iraqis. Great countries don’t do that.

Too bad Apple’s home nation doesn’t have what it to admit to the mistake and move on, they might have stayed a great nation instead of the terrorist with a screw up of epic proportions. Thanks for pointing that out KingMel, it was nice exchanging ideas with you KingMel.

        7. To point, there was a mistake made, identified and corrected. It should read, Fascinating when someone asks you not to post to them and you do but they can’t leave you alone.

That should provide the proper idea.

        8. OK fine,you screwed up.

Should I rescind my olive branch? Well, after a short second of reflection, yes big time.

Continue your suck up posts to libtards Melvin and USER. You all deserve each other…

  2. “Apple’s home nation, Apple’s home nation, Apple’s home nation, Apple’s home nation, Apple’s home nation” ad nauseam post after post. Congrats, your unhealthy obsession broke the record…

    1. I hear you, GoeB. It’s obvious that Road Warrior actually has some type of psychological disorder. Perhaps we should be gentle with him, though, so as not to figuratively push him off the cliff.

If someone reading this actually knows this person (Road Warrior), please encourage him/her to seek professional help.

      1. “Perhaps we should be gentle with him, though, so as not to figuratively push him off the cliff.”

Most excellent point. Yes, we should be “gentle” with people that suffer with obsessive disorders. I’ll keep that in mind, thank you…

  3. 😳😖🤣Lol…..Nothing but BS. Review should be done independently. This is no different than a kliptomaniac saying to prove that he/she didn’t steal something they will conduct a thorough search of their property to prove their innocence.

  4. The deal is that the US itself puts spy stuff that it sells to China as well as to any other competing nation. All competing nations do this. The NSA even intercepts gadgets that are shipped to suspects to plant spy bugs. It then has experts tasked with producing undetectable repackaging.

The point being that the NSA, or its girlfriend CIA, is likely to have planted this story to divert attention or for some other nefarious reason.

      1. Yes, so it can spy on the tech. of competing nations. And, more significantly related to this story, is that the US, especially this fake Russiagate stuff, accuses other nations of doing exactly what it already does. The nation that can release PR stories with the most lying impact and the longest legs wins on the PR front.

        1. These kind of stories began with Clinton’s wild-eyed unsupported assertion that Russia hacked her insecure server to throw the election to Trump. And now more and more stories in the US are planted to acclimate the US population to think of Russia and China as existential enemies intended to lead up to a reignited world war.

I totally resent this scheme to reward military contractors but impoverish normal folks in the US.
